Hi Community,
I read about your /emote (name) suggestion and think this should be somewhat extended:
I often found it tempting to display my own text when doing a emote. For example when doing "/fistshake" in order to underline a specific heroic phrase I just said, the "...shakes his fist angrily" is not always appropiate.
So my suggestion would be, that the emotes stay as they are when the command is given in its normal form, but when a text is entered after it, this text is displayed in the chat, while the emote is animated normally.
In my opinion, this:
/wave Good bye!
should result in:
{Charname}: Good bye!
while the Char does his waving.
This way, you could underline your chat with brothers (and sisters) in arms by doing appropriate moves and you wouldn't need to bother all the other players in the district with your waving emote, because only those standing near you will see it.
I think this really should be fun.
Greetings from Germany.

Nice idea, but..
I have 95% of the time have emotes disabled. That's just unnecessary spam, especially when people abuse it. So now, people keep spamming emotes, but add in text. Which dumps the text into local channel.
It would work, if the text is added onto the emote-channel, behind the emote itself, ie. {charname} waves his/her hand; "Good bye!", tho it would break the original idea.. UNLESS, if team/guild channel is active, the emote line would go to guild/team channel, but if local/emote channel is active, the emote line would go to emote channel [Not spamming local with /emotes, ever].

Hi Kaguya.
Exactly! My Idea was, that the text behind the /emote is put into the currently active chat (local, team, guild, whatever) as simple normal chatline while the emote is animated "mute" (without the white text at all.).
Yes that would spoil my idea a bit, because you get the unfitting white text. For example the /goteam emote would be useful for many different occasions, but is fixed to Team-related talking by the "GO TEAM!" emote text.
I could also think of some different uses for the /sorry emote, like "No! No. That's not what I meant. You misunderstood." and such.

Even though most people have the emote channel off anyway, I don't see any reason to give the immature 12 year olds yet another means to be obnoxious.
