how do i report people
shadie
ok since the guild wars main site has been updated im having troubles finding the link to report people i get sent to some site that has no direct link no info with no email address for reporting players
i have spent the last 2 hrs in a district with 1 person continually spamming for new recruits to his guild other players in the district recomended me turning of local chat, Why should i have to do that.
i have screenshots times dates etc but nowhere to send them can someone help, or can Gaile gray have the devs look into this.

That's it right there.
Product = Guild Wars, Department = Violation Report.
Product = Guild Wars, Department = Violation Report.

best bet is to submit a bug report that the knowledge base no longer has information on how to report people and ask them what the new procedure is.
then pass it on to us.
good luck

My fault.
My best guess would be to try whatever looks good and then, if it's wrong and they tell you to do something else, then the problem's solved.
Edit: Just to note, with the above, that's all the results for 'Report'. The word 'violation' yields no results at all.

yeah i got the same thing when i did the search
ok i have written an email to [email protected] regarding reporting people and the plaync site.

I sent 2 reports one to Gaile and one to [email protected] and I have yet to hear back from them. There is got to be ways if you get scammed or are being harrased.

You're meant to goto the support page, click "Ask A Question" and set the field in there to Guild Wars, Violation Report. I can't remember what they're under but you'll find them around there somewhere.

ok after following lord_seafood instructions and checking my email for a reply i get this

if you go to support.guildwars.com and fill things out appropriately you can do everything you want there, report bugs, report violations, etc. It's really nott hat hard guys. You don't need a special login to do it, your guildwars account is all you need.

time of violation and your local time
location
screenshots hopefully
details of event.
now it lets you guess at what they want.
a simplr how to report instruction set is not an unreasonable request..
CONSIDERING THEY SUPPOSEDLY WANT YOU TO SEND IN REPORTS SO THEY CAN CLEAN THINGS UP.
if i have to jump through additional hoops i wont do it.
i spent 15 minutes yesterday actually looking at all 12 pages of selections under reports plus more time searching under other related subjects.
phooie

i agree with loviatar it took me all up around 3hrs to work all this out, and in the end i still dont know is i gave all the correct information they need to act

Sents
I made a report of several dik heads in Augory, and I admit it was a bit confusing for the first 5-10 minutes, but 3 hours are you serious. I dont see how on earth filling in a violation report(time/place,those involved etc), bundling up the screeens, and sending it off could possibly take 3 hours, all told the 2 times I have reported probably took in total 30 minutes of my time. Got reports back both times,2 or 3 that seemed to be automated, and 1 personal email from a rep, wanting to know how I felt the violations system served me.
Do I know if those said 'tards got banned, not for certain, but I'd be willing to bet one guy got a perm, cause he was bragging about how he had gotten several temp bans and was in the process of trying to get another, so myself and several others at the time decided to oblige the idiot, and the 3 or 4 others that joined in on the fun.
Im sorry if the OP had a bad time reporting a violation, but do any of you really think it serves the game in any way to just take the attitude of, well they arent going to ever do anything about it, or it takes too long, I cant be bothered.
I guess in the end it depends how much you are willing to do to help the community, and in turn yourself, of the game you may or may not love to play.
Edit PS: just to be fair to the OP, I just went to GuildWars support to see if things had changed signifigantly since my last report, they havent, but.. I think I can see where many people are getting confused and I am all for Anet making it easier and and more streamlined for reporting Violators.
I think the problem is that reports are generated thru the 'Ask a Question', once you click onto 'Ask a Question' you will be able to highlight the fact that what you are doing is making a Violations report. I can honestley see how this could be very confusing to some people, so a little time and effort might be in order from Anet to address this little niggle.
