Thats what i thought.

I always wondered how energy denial attacks affect pets since they dont have energy to begin with. How does mind wrack and etc work on them?

last weekend, a ranger was putting together a group for just this. He had to really really convince some rangers to go along with his plan, and after 1 failed start because a few didn't follow his instructions, we got a team perfectly in his vision. I wish I could remember his name, because he was a real pro.

Anyways, here's the way it works:

1 heal monk (that was me)
1 orders necro
6 rangers with lvl 20 pets

The rangers had to have somewhat high beast mastery, and all had to have comfort animal to revive them. And they had to revive them fast and often. Also. all rangers had throw dirt, and each one had a different spirit.

First run, just shy of an hour. Second run, about 50 minutes. Freakin amazing. We were taking on multiple packs at once quite frequently.

I had to heal less than in every 2 monk team, and most 3 monk teams.

I'd highly recommend this setup, for those who don't have hours on end to play. I hope this weekend to find such a group. In fact I may be refitting my necro to be the orders necro in case monks are in supply and orders necros are in demand.

Well I know that if you don't have any energy and no regen (i.e. a warrior maintaining two enchants) and someone casts Mind Wrack on you, you do not instantly take the damage. As long as you do not gain any energy and then lose it, you will never be dealt damage from Mind Wrack. This is because of the wording: "The next time".

So if pets have no energy to begin with, I'm pretty sure they'd be immune (in a sense of the word) to Mind Wrack.

A variation of this build has also been showing up in Tombs lately. 5-6 rangers+pets, 1-2 necros (MM, Orders optional) and 1-2 monks (numbers may vary).

The MM variation works extremely well with pets dying left and right.

Are pets subject to DP? If not this is ingenious.

Yep.

The groups that I've gone with don't bother to have everyone bring Throw Dirt. At least one person brings Favorable Winds, at least one person brings Winnowing. Everyone goes equipped with Distracting or Savage Shot.

Barrage Spammers are THE big thing in PvE Tombs right now...

And since Pets are not really effected by alot of the precautions of the monsters then its suggested you bring them.

Rangers really have a good deal in there - since alot of the skill setups and such were specifically put there as anti-farm caster stuff.
