This got a little long, but bare with me. It’s worth it.
Ever been in an UW group where your monks didn’t turn out to be what they said they were? You know, flash their HPs, say they are healer or prot, and then once in UW they switch gear and go 55hp on you just to spank the group so they can get a free ride in? Well if you have, then you know how annoying and frustrating that is, and if you haven’t, trust me, it’d piss you off royal.
Well here’s an interesting story. Today, just now, I joined what looked like a promising UW group - full group of 8, the whole sha-bang. The leader had been yelling for a while to make a quality group and ask each person that joined what kind if player they were for their class, you know, to insure to the best of his ability he was making a quality group. We had two monks, names obviously withheld, who each in turn proclaimed to be a healer and a prot’r – even reporting their hps via Team Chat. The leader, a warrior in full FoW warrior armor with a crystal sword pays the cost and we go into UW.
Upon entering the UW, we immediately see the monks gear change and they run off and start soloing within 15 secs of entering the area. Needless to say, a lot of people weren’t happy and a lot of yelling start happening between the party – mainly the group yelling at the monks for lying. Well at first we doing OK, as the monks just do the tanking, and the rest of us nuke, etc. Well.. really me nuke. I a fem mez/mo playing dom spike build (my usual for FoW – it’s very effective. Needless to say, I have no heals. I’m /mo just for Rebirth). I have to admit, although I was upset at this turn of events, I could care less. I just didn’t appreciate the monks trying to get out of the fact that they blatantly lied, but I was the first to say ‘lets just keep going as it’s working so far’.
Well soon enough, the group falls apart, around the smites area. The monks decide to run off on their own completely, and so the warriors retaliate. They start pulling more junk onto the monks then they can handle. This of course causes problems for the other party members as well, since the monks won’t heal them. Soon enough, most the party leaves. It’s just me (Mez/Mo), 2 warriors, and 2 monks. The 2 rangers and an ele and wutever else was there have now left.
The first monk who ran off, gets himself spanked. The second then dies shortly after, but before the whole party leaves one ranger resses the first monk – much to the chagrin of the rest of the party. The ranger then leaves soon after. Ok so we have me, 2 warriors, 1 dead monk, and 1 living monk. So now the 2 warriors are trying their best to pull as much as possible onto the one monk who’s left. I find this all too funny so I stick around, despite my guildies yelling for me to come start a new group and do FoW/UW. I’m like.. guys this is just too funny.
As the warriors proceed to try and spank the one monk, they keep dying in the process, and since the one monk has a sprint, he often runs off to the clear. That’s where I come in. with FC rebirth I keep popping up the warriors, so they can keep trying. I don’t pull anything personally onto the monk, I’m just there to ress. So after a while the first monk starts apologizing for lying about what kind of monk he was and asking for a ress. Even offering money. Well, sorry, but I don’t accept his currency! He even starts offering to help kill the other monk. Back and forth it goes. Eventually the two warriors are both dead, and they’ve died in not such easy to ress areas. The one living monk starts acting kinda weird around me. He’s avoided me the whole time, but I sense he’s up to no good now with me in mind. I trot over to where one of the warriors died, the last one. Tra la la. As I’m heading over there, the monk PURPOSELY tags colds and starts trying to pull them onto me. I just wait.. act like I’ not noticing.. Ho hum.. I’m just.. waiting for my chance to rebirth this warrior.. yeah yeah, that’s the ticket. Ok so now monk has gotten close enough, I run over, start to rebirth warrior – only to agro a junk load of smites. I abort rebirth mid cast and haul my sweet ass towards the hex’d monk – who’s moving like molasses cuz of the cold’s hexes.
Since I’m not hexed nor the target of their fury, I just run right around them, and the smites swarm onto the monk who was trying to spank me. SURPRISE! The monk then tries his best to turn around and escape while I’m running well off into the clear. He gets ganked, big time. Total freaking OWNAGE.
As he dies, I proudly proclaim “I win!” Why is it ownage in the extreme? Cuz I have zero heals, zero sprint, and it only took me one try to take him out. Because this guy was so cheesy, I had to give him the cheesiest line in response, so I added “You mess with the best, you die like the rest.”
He then immediately left the group.

No, DUO monks who use SoJ. It negates SS's impact by slowing their attacks. AND you dont have any protection vs. coldfires. They suck basically. I've soloed the smite run with SoJ, yes, but it's annoyingly slow...

I've entered an IDS farm group as 55 monk. Soon as I died I apologize and changed gear.
But all because I forgot to change gear. Had Prot. skill equiped (Boon protector).
Now, I can't seem to understand why are there people doing this?
I can only see 2 options:
- They're 14 age old or less.
- They're 14 or more with a mind of 14 or less.
(Sorry to the 10% of the 14 or less guys who actually know how to behave.)
But all because I forgot to change gear. Had Prot. skill equiped (Boon protector).

no fair! im only 14 and the only times i have ever pissed ppl off is when they have tried to scam me and i scream something like '>scammer< is giving away free ectos...!'. I have to agree that there are yound ppl playing this game that cannot see that they are playing with older ppl and shouldnt behave like a child and be annoying. My sister is 11... she rocks at GW and has never found a reason to annoy anyone.
