Are you a treasure hunter or a farmer?
Narutoscryed
Im bored so i decided to make this thread to bore all you aswell...In this game i belive that people that have played through a few times have the option to call themselves one of two things. they are either a farmer, or a treasure hunter, I consider myself a treasure hunter. because everyday i come on these forums. look for rumors or hotspots. then go and find them. i also do a lotta searchin for stuff on my own... and well pretty much i just wanted to know what everyone else considers themselves to be .

I'm still hunting for Superior Absorption :P
Turbo Wombat
Neither one or the other, really... I'm kind of a Farming treasure hunter...
MinaDrakul
I'm still looking for that Superior Absorption, who isn't? I'm still working some characters through but I also do some farming on the side. So, I guess I'm a farmer.
disarm76
I'm just farming...getting money to upgrade my shield collection.
And if I *actually* find any good item, that I don't want it ---> GWGuru Auction here we go!
Today I did 5 runs to the Ruins of HoH with as MM with a barrage group.
Only thing I got was the Bulwark *does naked chicken happy dance*

I let others look for useful stuff, I farm seaboard to obtain cha-ching and accumulate happiness points! Karkarkarkar!

I farm for treasures. Got a couple superior absorbtions, and enough superior vigors for all my characters with some extras to sell, plus major vigors and other superiors.
chris_nin00
I farm for the pure pleasure
Murder In China
At heart, I'm a Treause Hunter, but in reality I'm a farmer.
neoteo
i must be a Treause Hunter , becose farmers have a lot of gold , and i dont have any.
Seef II
I don't power-farm but I kill easy stuff quickly enough. Chest hunting gets dull after your fourth group in a row doesn't get out of Rastigan's range.
mattjones527
I'm definitely a treasure hunter, FoW chest runs are all I do anymore

Quester :P
I dont solo.
I dont solo.

Guess you could call me a 'material farmer'. Its nice when you get something nice drop but I cant remember the last time I actually sold something. More times than not I give stuff away to guildies that need it. But farming for materials allows me to get the things I need ie sup runes, armor etc. I have only 1 treasure and that is the healing ankh that my doppleganger dropped when I ascended my monk. I keep it as a trophy cuz my warrior and my ranger ascended sooo easy. I was shocked when I had to try a 2nd time on my monk to beat my doppleganger. Plus he only dropped for my monk.
BBoy_Manchild
i play video games to kill things, why not make a profit in the process?
Harmony
Well, I've finished the game with 3 characters, fixing to finish with my 4th and still have chars I'm working up, so definitely a quester. But....I also do ettin runs, and UW/FOW/Sorrows for the treasure. So guess that makes me a treasure hunting quester with a penchant for farming..or a really pitiful person with no life; take your pick
Rilder
I'm a treasure hunter because Guild wars doesn't have corn, barley, and oats, nor Cows you can milk.
Barinthus
I used to be a treasure hunter - I'd spend my gold acquired from selling items on keys and open chests. I just love opening chests and see what I wind up getting.
Then after a while I realized my processings from selling my findings wasn't enough to maintain my key purchases I became a material farmer - salvaging everything and selling those to players or material traders.

If i do happen to farm a couple of things or open a few chests, its just on the way to getting to another town, or getting a quest done...
And thats why I'm poor

I do both......out of bordem. Then, I'll get bored of it too after a few minutes. The reason I do this is because the guild is inactive most of the time, but becomes heavily active on the weekends. Although, I go out on Saturdays @_@ Another reason, I used to be guildless before I joined and did everything on my own, with PuGs, and the henches. Hard to breakaway from my old freelancing days.
Another thing, how come some people hate the farmers? O_o

Treasure Hunter for me... farming gets very old very quick. I get my money from doing the missions and opening chests and going to very out of the way places (i.e. yesterday took a trip down to where theres millions and squillions of Verata's Apprentices just to take screenshots) and helping with quests.

Well, if you're speaking from a monetary standpoint ... i'm neither. I'm a merchant to make money. My bank and character space are always revolving with crafting materials and easily-sellable items, etc.
I have no luck with farming, or chests ... it's only when i'm not looking for a great drop that I get one. Call me crazy, but I believe in "Game karma" ... I help out wherever and whenever I can, and I seem to get some good drops along the way. You could call me the hunter that never hunts

So uhhh...you gonna put that John Deere on Guru's Auction site? PM me with the details (I'm sure everyone would want one of those)

First 3 months i played this game i was a PURE farmer. Stopped for 2 months to work on characters. Now i am a pure Treasure Hunter. Trying to find Superior Vigor and a Superior Absorbtion, and there is nearly ZERO profit in Ettin farming while in search for these runes. Seriously, crappy rare items, all none max, and all the superior runes i DO find are like 300g at the trader... BLEH!
oh, i guess i do farm the materials!! =P Enjoy!

I'm a farmer.. Treasure hunting doesn't always suceed but atleast when you farm theres an average amount of profit.
Griff Mon
I have on char that is kind of a utility guy that does most farming for me as he can solo in some moderately profitable areas. He is called up when needed for a quest or mission with a guildie.
Two characters are shelved but called up when needed by the guild when a monk or ele is needed.
I am still bringing along a couple of more charachters that do a combo of farming and skill capping.
Skill capping is a form of farming anyway as I find myself lugging back a bunch of stuff whenever I skill cap anyway.
