Gwen Bugged???

Hi.

The last 2 characters i have created have been unable to activate Gwens flute quest, every time I click on her she says "I think I'll follow you" after a few clicks of follow/stay I decided to let her follow me round the area and see if anything happened. Nothing??

I have been able to do this before and was wondering if it was bugged or if you have to do things in a certain order.

Will it work if i just buy one from a merchant??

I have done all quests except for over the wall.

I left her til I had done all the pre-searing missions a couple of days ago, went and bought the cape and flute, and also had got 3 red iris flowers for her. Went outside Ascalon City and couldn't find her. Eventually she showed up stuck right behind the ressurection portal next to lina. She took the cape and 2 flowers before giving me the tapestry shred, wasn't interested in the lovely flute I had got her at all!

Gwen seems to be behind the resurrection shrine all the time now, atleast every time I went past it past few days. Odd.

I found the broken flute and gave it to her, then bought I nice new flute which she didn't take. She follows and heals sometimes.

Shes getting tempremental, I guess since she knows shes going to die later

with every character i have made i have not been able to get the tapestry shard... even with giving her the cape, flute and many many flowers.

I recently bought one for 30g

What is the tapestry shard for???

I never bothered getting this from her. I just got the flute for her.

It's part of a quest that hasn't been finished or left broken intentionally, you can find a broken flute in post-sear Ascalon and her mother's ghost is in Underworld. I'm not sure if she says anything if you take it, or the tapestry shred, to her though....

I gave Gwen couple of flowers, then ran around finishing all quests. Was just about to leave when I remembered Gwen, that I might want my first tapestry shred...

Bought the Cape and Flute in Ascalon, then exited, found Gwen.. only that she ALREADY had the cape and flute on, and wouldn't take the ones I had. I tried running to a different area, nothing, dropped away the flute, changed area again, nothing. Ran around a bit to find some flowers, gave them, and nothing...

Methink it's very bugged right now >:|

Kaguya - were you with someone else when you went to give gwen the cape and flute?

If you were in a party with someone else and they had already given the items to gwen.. that explains why she had them and you couldn't give her yours.

I have given her many flowers and took her with me everywhere and got the tapestry shred before she had the red cloak. I think how much time she spends with you or where you take her may be a factor.

I've had the same thing happen to me. Have not given her anything, then joined up with someone, then zone all and she has the flute / cape and she never give me the tapestry shard. I make sure I have her flute and cape before joining any one to prevent me from being getting the tapestry shard.

My ele and ranger had no trouble "playing" with her. But with my monk, Gwen tends to hide behind the ressy shrine, and does, indeed, follow me before offering the flute quest.

There has been something wrong with this quest for some time now. I remember not being able to complete it with my first character, my warrior which I created in May of 2005. I'd also be interested in knowing how to receive this "tapestry shard."

I was alone when I went to give them. I had done Across the Wall-quest with someone earlier, but I didn't take any special notice to Gwen at the time. Suppose that ruined it for me then, atleast ...
Seems to be my downfall then Drats. Think it's a bug none the less tho...

I think you have to give her the flute/cape before you start giving her flowers and you can have no flowers in your invi when you do...just from my own play so no guarentee.

My latest character ( I deleted the previous 2) HAS been able to do this, I just did her straight after talking to the Profession guy.

I went through 6 characters without getting the shred...once even after giving her everything including about 20 irises. Finally got it, did try to take it to her mom in UW..it's a no-go.

My monk didn't get the broken flute quest. I think it's related to the fact that you have to save her in your initial quest.
