Best place to level pets?

I'd say right now the best place to level any pet, whether level 5 or 19, is in a barrage group in the new UW. It's primary job is to be a corpse anyways, so why not suck all the levels you can off of it? Though I must warn, in my experience leveling many different pets, if most/all of the levels are attained while the pet is dead it doesn't seem to evolve at all. You can take this as good or bad as it's basically an elder without the elder name. You can always rename this unevolved Warthog if this happens, /namepet Elder Warthog.
As for the XP comment, it must be based off of the pet's level since it levels fairly quickly against mergoyles/minos at low levels and you don't acquire any (or nothing significant) from these monsters.

I'm not calling you a liar, I just thought that pets leveled similarly to characters, ie based on pet level vs. monster level.
Pets gain levels based on their level, not their master's, and how many people are in the party. Multiple pets in the party have no effect on how much experience the pets will gain, only the number of people does. Also, they do gain a bit more experience than would a player of the same level. I can't give much detail as to that, since Epi is the one running tests on it.

The pet gains experience appropriate to its level, not to the owner's level.
