As much as I'm inclined to cheer for Taiwan (Both my parents were from there), that ain't going to happen.

On the official GW site was saying they had beta ever since dec., but I wonder if that is even enough.
For all you know, you can have TW players in America version (remember those ember light camp chinese?). In that sense, quite some of them had already play guildwar for quite awhile now.
I doubt they have any chance regardless. However, that really depend on how desperate are they to get the 10k.

Couldn't one of the top 10 guilds now switch to a taiwanese server? Or is that not allowed?

It won't happen.

I'm not inclined to say it won't happen. It will be tough but it's definately possible. Taiwan had been in beta since around december, that doesn't mean people there couldn't have gotten a copy of the game from the US, Europe or even Korea a lot earlier than december and just been practicing in other guilds.

Don't get your hopes up yet ladies and gentlemen.

Certainly would like to watch it (wonder if they are under another kind metagame...)

ya I think it's a bit odd, anti-climatic, and a bit of a challenge for the contenders already under pressure focusing on eachother
the winner will already win a boat-load of cash and be 'the best'
however basically 2 unseen guilds who certainly can be observing the current guilds have a crack @10k as the attentions of the players are elsewhere - and why shouldnt they be, thats where there money is - they get some kind of 'value pack' if they beat this further challenge
I dunno, have them play runner-up or one of the first guilds eliminated or something. Just doesnt make sense to me. So you might have them get lucky (winners attention and energy was certainly elsewhere, and taiwan makes a flash in the pan play for one win) and now the whole ladder proves what? That if you send one or two guilds right to the top to win one game there's a chance they'll win?
bad move imo, but that's me
as the leading competing guilds and builds have been exposed I hope similiarly taiwans will be for perusal as well. I expect the winner to flatten them but again just odd, anti-climatic, goofy... again all imo
