Question on +5 Energy Bows

I was hoping to get some information on this +5 energy bow going around high end. I just brought my 4th char through the game so I have no way to try to check this, but I'm fairly sure that I got a +5 energy bow of some kind as a quest item.

I was considering saving whatever weird bow this was, but decided that damage was way too low to ever be useful. Just wanted to put this out as a possible warning to people investing in the bow and hopefully people can give a few opinions to be sure that they have been removed or not before too many are sold.

The old Hunter's Horn quest in pre-searing used to give a +5 energy 7-10 damage longbow with the Half-Moon skin as a reward. I have a few of them. The reward was changed to a 7-10 15>50 longbow with the same skin some time ago. There also was a collector bow in post-searing ascalon that had +5 energy as well. It appears that the ones listed in the trade are the collector bows.

yes these bows do exist, but i don't really see the use in them, as anyone could get that one mesmer staff for +15 something energy.

I saw another post about that +5 energy bow just a little while ago. The bow isn't worth much because of the low damage, making it useless to high end players. As for answering your question, No, there is no bow that has +5 energy and is close to max damage. I am sure you have seen how the HoD sword and axe (the one with 2 enchantment grips) were spammed around. If there was a +5 energy bow that was close to max, then someone would find it and, it would take a matter of MINUTES for everbody to know where and, how to get it. It would be called the NERF bow. Wait I guess they do exist, I had one when I was a kid. Damage sucked on it though. LOL :-)

The +5 energy non-caster weapons were only ever used because they were 1 handed and had the effect.

This is the same reason SoA Axes were huge while the Ascalon maul that had the same glitch was never even heard about by most.

two-handed with +5e isn't anything. I couldn't see them selling for very much unless just for collector's value.

I guess that I was more just wondering if the bow still exists in game, while people are paying 100k or more for these things. It took a while for people to find out about the fake HoD axe, and I still see people buying the +5 energy shield. I just wanted to say that I think this item may still be in game, and for people to double check what they are buying before they pay that much for it.

I made my ele about 2 weeks ago and believe that I got a +5 energy bow as a quest item sometime in pre, kryta or the northern shiverpeaks, so I just wanted to be sure people aren't buying something that is still in game. It could have been another weird bow, but I know for sure it was't a mod that you can get on a gold bow. I could be wrong that it was +5 energy, so thats why I wanted to post in here and see if anyone else could let me know for sure.

I know how you feel, nothing urgs me more than someone spamming the trade channel with "HoD shield +5 energy 100k, nerfed item". Kind of rediculous people trying to take advantage of people like that.
