I don't have much experience with necros. I've been a W/R for most of my time in GW, and done some Ele work... just started a PVE MM (N/Mo). But I've recently started experimenting with a N/Me in PVP. I've been playing on an incomplete degen build atm thats satisfactory, but not decent until I get enough faction for virulence. Whats the best N/Me build for PVP in your opinion? I've seen myself killed within seconds by a few degen necros, but I've also been rendered disabled by SS necros as a W/R in PVE.
So, from the real necros out there, whats your take? Also, I've thought of a Martyr + Condition transferring build (Mo/N). I'm sure its been done before... but is it efficient?
PVP - SS or Degen?

For pvp, my absoulute favourite nec build is a AoTl Blood Necro. Nice and defensive
But if you want to go more offensive, I would suggest blood magic with some energy management added in.
Necros are flexible. Find what is right for you.

I find that inspiration mesmer skills I've used such as Ether Lords don't really do much for you, compared to their dmg to the opponent.. so what would you suggest I could use for energy management? This is my first time with a /Me or Me/.

You should be a Spiteful necro. It's my favourite. This one works good in both PvP as PvE.

In CA I used this:
Arcane echo + life transfer + shadow strike + life siphon. When life transfer runs out, reapply.
That's one dead enemy unless he manages to heal or remove life transfer. Especially good combined with Cry of Frustration against those warriors who like to suicide by charging ahead of their team at the start of the round, and use healing signet for self-heal.
Also, should he manage to heal, your skills will recycle quickly, and you can reapply it. You can keep one enemy at -10 degen if you want to, and even healing monks have to struggle to keep up with that. A nice bonus is that many enemies will panic when they see their health bar in free fall.
However, that pretty much everyone uses HoD helmets now means I no longer use degen for my necro.

8- Rez Signet echoing SS with no eergy management will make you run out of energy much faster (you can only rely on soul reaping completely in pve)... you also dont have a cover hex, which is a very bad idea... here is what i use for pvp:
1. SS
2. parasitic bond
3. malaise
4. enfeeble
5. faintheartedness
6. consume corpse
7. <free hex> (rigor or whatever the party needs)
8. res
