Okay, since the community works board was deleted, I'll post this here.

Warriors
Wa/Mo-Paladin
Wa/E-Arcane Knight
Wa/N-Death Knight
Wa/Me-...
Wa/R-...

Rangers
R/Mo-...
R/E-Druid
R/N-Beast Master
R/Me-Pirate King

Monks
Mo/E-Arcanist
Mo/N-Sinner
Mo/Me-...

I don't have any clue to the rest. If you want me to edit the format, please say so.

It's really hard to name all the combos in a general way, because of the diversity of skills combos.

For Example...

Monk + Earth Elementalist = Earth Priest

Monk + Water Elementalist = Water Priest

Monk + Air Elementalist = Air Priest

Monk + Fire Elementalist = Fire Priest

It'd be easier just to compile a list of names of Builds.

Yeah, but I don't want build names, I want combo names, just so people don't have to say "Wa/M LFG" And people will be all "???" unless they know the abbreviations for classes. If someone says "Paladin LFG" then they would know what they are talking about...

isn't it the same thing to learn the abriviations than it is to learn the combo names? Actually learning the abriviations is simpler, since there would be 36 combo names to elarn, and only 6 abriviation names to learn. Also, giving names to the combos would conflict GW's goal in trying to give the player the freedom to make what he/she wants, instead of having to conform to one of the chars they set, since aspecific name would make it feel as though you should do a specific thing with a specific skill combonation, which is often not the case at all.

Blood Healer? For necros who have points in Blood Magic and Healing Prayers

I have most points in Blood Magic, Soul Reaping, and Smiting Prayers...not sure what to call that one.

Mo/R

N/Me -Zombie Trainer? what?! N/Mo would be more suitable for a minion build I would think.

As has been stated each class combination provides possibilites for multiple roles. I play a N/Me myself and do not have a single point in Death Magic. I've invested in Blood and Domination which leech life and spirit. Therefore if i had to name the build (which imo is more suitable than naming class combinations) I'd call it something like:

Soul Devourer
Vampire
etc...

Note: is it really that hard to learn the following?

E - Elementalist
Me - Mesmer
Mo - Monk
N - Necromancer
R - Ranger
W - Warrior

I think it's much easier to learn the abbreviations than to try to remember 30 different class names, and whether Death Knight is W/N or N/W, etc.

Edit: vvv Oh right. Sorry, in that case.

if you think about it, a necro with elementalist secondary has many names... Pyromancer, Aeromancer, Aquamancer, Geomancer. one for each of the magic classes of the elementalists. then there are some for each thing becasue of the way you can spec out a character.it all depends. there are SOO many possiblities if u look at the right way. if you have a death magic necro and hammer warrior together, you could have blight-hammer or anything of the such. it all depends on how the person decides to spec out their character.

I made a thread like this a while back. Here are the names I came up with:

Elementalist:

+ Monk = "Sage"
+ Necromancer = "Sorcerer"
+ Ranger = "Hermit"
+ Warrior = "Wizard"

Mesmer:
+ Elementalist = "Conjurer"

+ Warrior = "Strategist"

Monk:
+ Elementalist = "Elder"

+ Ranger = "Herbalist"

+ Warrior = "Reaper"

Ranger:
+ Elementalist = "Druid"

+ Necromancer = "Trapper"
+ Warrior = "Guerrilla"

Warrior:

+ Mesmer = "Commander"
+ Monk = "Paladin"
+ Necromancer = "Shadow Knight"
+ Ranger = "Rogue"

I would like to see players have their choice of profession combo names. Example: a Ranger/Monk who wants to work out an oriental theme could call himself a Shaolin. Or a more Eurocentric name could be Dunedain, as was previously suggested. (Excellent suggestion, by the way.) How about Medicine Man? Native American theme. The point is that the players should have control & the ability to customize their characters.

Perhapse instead of simply saying "the names are dumb" you should suggest some names you like?

I would love to see people use these instead of screaming W/Mo all the time.

I play a R/W, who I unofficially refer to as my "Ninja"...or at least I will when I get black dye for my armor I've also referred to my ranger as a Sniper (since he uses bows almost exclusively anymore)

Whether these names become official or not, I LOVE this idea. im so tired of n00bile people running around screaming their "X/X LFG" spammage.

Note: I never invite people who scream "X/X LFG". Ever. That's n00b. I prefer more articulate, intelligent individuals who aren't too lazy to write out what they are and what they want. If they are too lazy to type it, then they are most likely too lazy to help the team, in my book.

Well, names do not have to encorperate your profession exactly but more of the exact use of your character. Like mine... Striker Shardale, his first name entails striking which can be though of damage or a speedy hit. Shardale is just his last name. Actually that is also how I have him setup, he strikes fast and hard. Usually 50 or more dmge a second and if done correctly I can do that to multiple people, I love you Barrage.

P/W

I got a better idea, lets use the names we conjured up as our character identity!

Honestly, there are 6 jobs to remember, and you can recognize them in combinations, do you think people will recognize you quicker if you say your a magiknight or whatnot? I mean it isn't easier to remember 30 sub names then simply remembering the 6 exsisting titles in combination. Oh! but necrophiliac is shorter then N/E......... that saves time?........ wrong.

You can call yourself something grand, like Paladin Zain, and make a Warrior/Monk character, and play out a paladin role, but making official (and lame) secondary titles for every combination only adds more hastle, it does absolutly nothing to decrease LFG time.

Your a what again? a GeoWarrior?....... whats that again?......... lame.

Hows this, I named my N/Me "Kauket Dark Goddess" after the Egyptian Goddess of darkness and chaos, hey thats cool enough for me, I don't want an assigned "title".
