Profession specific recognition.

With a level cap at 20 and rank heavily tombs related. Down the road I'd love to see a profession related reward system. Something really simple like a profession emote for fully unlocking(skills/runes) for a profession or a special weapon unlock(glitter not stats) for achieving a certain amount of faction playing a single class.

This way, you have some way to "prove to the world" that you aren't a noob in a certain class. This would be much more important to your casual and single class players, since it would be a one time "certification" type thing. Obviously if you've hit rank 6 your chances of having achieved this across several classes is high, but your average joe really has no way of convincing a pug he has played the class he is running.

If I were to do this, I'd run this system:
25k Faction as a primary would unlock:
Ranger: Bow (Feathered Short bow or something)
Warrior:Vets strength helm
Mez: Masters Rod(Fast cast connected)
...

75k Faction as a primary would unlock a profession specific emote: /ranger etc. Fun art as with rank... think a large hand clutching a symbol of the class above the characters head (bow, sword, fireball, skull, whirling wisp and open palm).

Ya, that would be useful...now we can actually get rank without having rank.

No, I don't think this is what's going on.

I think this would be great. A way to have our characters mean something to other people. For all you know, a person who just ascended to level 20 with no attribute quests completed and minimal skills looks the same as someone who's gone through the entire game. There's no way to tell people from being experienced to unexeperienced, and if we put in some simple rewards to sign to other people accomplishments, then maybe we'd be able to make better teams and judge if people are good enough to join our guild etc.

IWAY. Warrior/Rangers who have bought a few skills is all that's needed to get to a high rank. I have never done it, but I know many people do it, and I disagree with it. I can start the game with a template, earn a couple thousand faction and buy the IWAY skills, and I'm ready to roll. Do these people look any different than your normal player? No. For all you know they are really experienced, but /fame on one person might not mean anything at all.

If we can identify people, then I think we'd be able to know what's what.

Would still help for earning rank without already having it. Some other way to show you are experienced.

Serious Question: What would happen for a PvP Character who just unlocks from fame farming, everyone can grind from 2k faction gains off of GvG and click unlock on skills for a profession they aren't remotely familiar with? Maybe some way besides playing time can justify this?
I'm in favor of this though, but it doesn't quite distinguish from someone who used another character to unlock all the skills for a profession.

How about a /rank version of /age...In pick glowing letters, I have played this character this many hours!

Just kidding, but yeah, any rank type thing that a PvE person could use better than the rank system in place now would be super.
