What bows are you using?

I am currently using the Sundering Storm Bow, DM +12% and 10% armour pen.

From what I have read, I might be better off with a flat bow or a composite, but not quite sure.

A Sundering Longbow, my main bow and great for pulling, and Elswyth's Recurve, very powerful lifestealing vampiric bow. You can't even carry it around without your health falling, so I switch to it in battle. I'm looking for a good short bow to use in close quarters.

All my bows are storms, dmg >50, with either fire or poison strings, and either a fortitude grip or some slaying mod.

personal favourite is a flatbow, fires like a shortbow, length of a longbow, the arc size is huge, so the enemy can sidestep to avoid the arrows, to get around it, use read the wind or favourable winds , once under those 2, it just become the best bow in the game.

Flat bow- I thought the flight time is longer? not sure, what is a good pvp bow type and ideal porperties?

I use a Forgerunner, Sundering Shortbow of Defence 9/10 15% against hexed +5 and an Elswyth's Recurve Bow. I have a Shocking Composite bow 20% whilst hexed but I don't use that much. All req 9.

I use a sundering eternal bow of fotitude, Basically beacuse I like the way eternal bows look, the fortitude grip is +29, I also have a forgerunner.

1st is a 5/1 Vamp 14%>50%Half Moon with +25hp for regular offensive builds.
2nd is a 20%<50% Short Bow with +5 Armor for when I have to get defensive.
3rd is a 15%>50% Composite for interrupting.
4th is a Poison 15%>50% Storm Bow with + 20% ench for pulling and my JI build.

Zealous Short Bow (15%>50) of Marksmanship (20%)
Sundering (10%) Composite Bow (15%>50) of Defense (+5)
Vampiric (+5/1) Long Bow (15%>50) of Fortitude (+30)

Just looking for a 15%>50 horn bow now for HoH spiker groups...

But I love vampiric because you always get the extra 5 damage.

Everysingle green bow in the game , until I decided to sell them.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "better bow", but rather some bows are better for some builds than others. For what I generally use, I like my Poisoner's Long Bow of Defense (+15^50, armor +5, lengthens poison). However if I use a different build I sometimes switch to one of my green bows to suite me better. For example, the other night I was using a practiced stance + choking gas + tiger's fury build. I needed a fast refire rate along with a good projectile speed. I switched on and off between Graygore's Short Bow (vamp) and Boulderbeard's short bow depending on when I could afford to use the vamp bow at the cost of life degen. In general I don't like vamp bows, but they can come in handy for doing a bit more dmg. If you want to improve your bow, look closely at the skills you tend to use and decide whether you would prefer more damage, faster refire rate, faster projectile rate, and/or better range.

Did you guys all found your powerful bows as they are, or did you find string and things to upgrade them?

If so, where do they drop?

1) Dragos Sundering Flat
2) 5-1 + 29HP Longbow
3) Crappy Poisoners Short
4) Even more crappy Zealous Short

When I want a new bow I usually head to Augury and visit the collector just north of there. He has an Ascalon Bow 15^50 req-9 marks, for 5 something crests. You get the crests from the drake like guys outside of Elona Reach which you should be able to farm solo with your pet one or maybe 2 at a time. Take the bow and get it customized and then head to Lions Arch and look for some mods that you want to try. Just remember whatever mod you apply to a collector item can not be removed later.
It there a list of what the collector bows really are? Ascalon Bow from the collector mentioned is a = long?

2) Graygore's Shortbow (used for Short-Ranged PvP'ing)
3) Elwyth's Recurve Bow (used for Longer-Ranged PvP'ing)
4) Gargash's Recurve Bow (used for Barrage builds)

poisoners long bow of defense (+5)
zealous short bow of defense (+4)

also have a drago's vamp flatbow but it's not in the weapon bar at the moment, just used for very special occasions.

i havent used a bow on my ranger for like 2 months, but when i did use a bow it was
zealous ascalon bow (from mineral springs so its a short bow) of +7 sheltering
vampiric ascalon bow (from lornars pass so its a recurve bow) of +7 sheltering, great for barrage cause you dont break animation
i use my ranger for my 2 beast master builds nowadays
sundering is garbage, i would never waste a perfectly good prefix on such crap

Req 7 Shadow Bow 13^50% bought unid then ided it after testing -- Shocking Grip 19% Enchant

Collector's shortbow =p or an eternal bow. Longbow only for PvE pulling or PvP when I have fav winds on me.
