i think it means that if you dont have vanilla GW you can use the online preOrder, but if you do, you can still pre-order and get the PreOrderPack, so long as its from one of the online merchants that they are suplying with preOrderPack boxes....
as long as the place you pre-order from is on the list of officialy named preOrderPack stockists, then yeah, you should be able to get the pack thru them...even if its the CE
*looks to Alex for confermation?*
Next Beta Event 24th March.

This is my understanding so far (correct if I'm wrong)
- Standard version (no special goodies)
- Pre-order version (a couple of special ingame items for assassin & ritualist, and some extra things in the box)
- Collector's version (no idea what you get ingame, or with box???)
- Pre-order the Collector's version (ingame items??? pre-order goodies in box) - only if local game store is willing

Ok, lets clarify here a little bit.
On Feb 28th, stores will place a box on their shevles labelled Guild Wars: Factions Preorder, along with various signs to let you know that it is not the whole game, only a placeholder, so to speak and by buying it, you are reserving a copy of the game when it is released.
When the game is released on ??? ?th, stores will place copies of the normal and collectors editions of the Guild Wars: Factions game on their shelves. Depending on the retailer you're dealing with, you bring in the reciept / box for the preorder package, grab the copy of the game you want and go to the cashier who looks at the reciept / box, deducts $#.## (cost of preorder) from the cost of the game and asks for the remainder from you in the form of cash, check, credit card, etc. You then take your now purchased item home and install it via whichever means you prefer, and then you begin playing Guild Wars: Factions to your hearts content, or till you pass out from exhaustion, whichever comes first

Well umm this begs a LOT of questions.
I'm in Australia, we get the European version but often much later than Europe and we don't get the CE. I've actually taken to ordering a number of games online from Europe.
I would like to pre-order the CE but I can only do it from one English company. Now I'm assuming, from what has been said, that none of this will include the pre-order stuff that is coming with the normal version of the game, but that doesn't bother me all that much. The real question is whether the in-game CE stuff will actually WORK this time - and the same goes for the normal pre-order.
I suppose the simple fact here is that the chances of actually getting a pre-order box are ZERO, so even if we do pre-order (either version) we aren't going to get any of the bonuses anyway, is there going to be anyway around this?

If i preorder the game on Amazon will i get the preorder package or is that a whole diffrent thing?
Kerrick??
(the thread shambles and moans as it stares hungrily at your flesh... Behold. thread zombie...)
I think it actually depends on when you pre-order and what amazon's policy is.. Anet's official answer is to take it up with amazon. but my thinking is that if you preorder and it doesn't specifically show a picture of the preorder box.. you might just end up with credit on your account and a reservation for the actual game.
You'd probably be better off going to Best Buy or wherever and being sure of what you're getting...
