I was wondering what the least played classes are. Or are they all pretty close? I was going to get the game and was trying to decide what class to make before I got it....so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Monk's seem to be very hard to find when doing missions and such, although ever since the 55hp monk build was heard of i see more of them in the desert, but they are something that a lot of people want. I also notice sometimes its hard to find a nuker, although some doesn't like them - I have been in groups that needed nukers and monks.

So in my opinion ele's and monks. Also the least class I see is mesmers - but i dont see many groups asking for them.

Mesmer, because it is damn near useless in pve. Those builds which are useful (they do exist) are still useless, because nobody will let you party with them because they think you are useless.

They're invaluable in pvp, though. Even a mesmer with a crap build can be annoying sometimes.

In pvp, you might think that the least played class is monk, and I don't know, you might be right. But as a monk, I can tell you that this doesn't matter, because when you play a monk it is impossible to find a group most of the time. Each group needs one and exactly one monk, (or two/three in 8v8) and only idiots and griefers will take anymore on purpose, excepting smiters. This means that every group you try to join already has its quota, and so you're sitting there spamming "bonder LFG" for thirty minutes even though you were in the same place five minutes ago spamming "group LFmonk" or somesuch. I've had this happen in pve too, but I think monks are more common there, so it's probably just my luck.

Monks are hard to find for teams, but most people have a monk char, mesmers are probably the least played.
imo:
[Least Played]
Mesmer
Necro
Ele
Ranger
Monk
Warrior
[Most Played]

for PvP its slightly different, most build for HA require 3 monks, so naturally monks are more common, due to the popularity of IWAY you will find a huge excess of Warrs Rangers and Necros.

Mesmers are for sure the least played class. And the number of Mesmers who actually know what they're doing is even fewer. But it's by far my favorite class

Messemer's kick but in Pve, but no one realized this ><. They are a great support class that can do large variety of things. But say it's the least played class in pve.

Sorry, but wrong. I doubt people realize how foolish and close-minded comments like these make them look. So no, Mesmers are anything but useless in PvE. The reason the close-minded ones reject Mesmers in their parties is because of the Phantasm-spammers you see running around everywhere. But when a Mesmer actually explores the possibilities they have open to them, they are invaluable in PvE. Read up on the Mesmer forum before making comments like that.

Yea mez is good in pve, if you find expirianced players to play with then you are set, but if you are just starting one... unless you want to do the whole game alone with henchies... good luck. and I would say the list goes:

(least played)
mezmers
necros
rangers
elementalists
monk
warrior
(most played)

but as of lately:

mesmer
ranger
elementalist
monk
necromancer
warrior

I would have agreed a few months back (when I started) there were loads of necros, but I would say defiantly now they much rarer that a monk, it's just no one really notices because there not need that much for co-ops though are still useful.

I dunno, necros seem to be coming back again due to the "re-discovery", as it were, of the power of MMs when it comes to farming. Rangers will become more common soon I think, given the popularity of barrage/pet farming in tombs. Elementalists have dropped in popularity since the AoE nerf, but mesmers are still by far the least common class in PvE.

You'll think that until you meet a good mesmer.

Mesmers are probably less common because they are more difficult to understand how to play well. Many casual gamers simply don't want to think hard enough to play a mesmer effectively. Considering the majority of people playing for fun prefer to hack n' slash or dish out mega elemental damage, mesmers just get overlooked.

I'm quite tempted to give a mesmer a try. If I find it a bit to complicated, I'll probably go for an elementalist.

Thanks again. ^^

I think that the least are spell casters like monk, mesmer, and ele. I see quite a few rangers and necro's, and warriors are probably the most popular.

Who dares call my class useless? RAGE.

The best thing about most people not liking mesmers (yes, there is an upside) is that when you DO find someone who likes mesmers, chances are if you're good at it, they'll come to you when they need a mes (because good ones aren't common).
