Or you could, you know, try leveling up.

Take as many spirits as you can buy/get from quests. Take Frenzy, Use a candy cane axe or sword (no req), let him use frenzy, then spirits (takes awhile) in this time you can kill him fairly easily.
I suggest at least 3 spirits with you being level 4.
