This is basically a pet suggestion.
Ive searched and nothing has been mentioned about this. (apologize if there is)
so here goes.

Pets and their stats grow, but while they grow, do they actually look any different from lvl1 to lvl20?

I would like to see graphical evolutions (differences in how pets look) during each type of evolution (meaning dire, hearty, playful, elder, even new ones would be quite nice) or each level of intervals a pet reaches.

examples:
lvl1-5------ current look and size.
lvl5-10----- slight size change, added looks.
lvl10-15----- ofcourse bigger size, but more updated or "matured" features to the pet.
lvl15-20----- max size, again more features to the pet.

I only suggest these aesthetic/decal features because when I see pets/screenshots of pets from others, the size is the only thing that really differentiates them.

Implementation would not be a cakewalk, since transitions of these features can be done either in real-time (@ the time of pet lvling) or after zoning to give a chance for streaming the effects/features.

So, just a suggestion.

/thx for reading thru.

Signed. Would be cool.

Speaking of attribute grow, fixing your pet's attributes and skills would be awesome.

I think Dire should definitly look more lean and muscular and of course more aggressive, spikier fur, more scars, just plain meaner. Hearty should be a little fatter and bigger maybe a bit more broad. Elder should keep the same look.

Besides the "evolution" I think depending on Dire/Elder/Hearty they should get their unique add ons..

Dire should be able to have weapons, such as talons over their claws.
Elder don't get anything
Hearty should get armor, such as plates or something, something to make them look more battle ready.
(Personally I'm not a fan of the armor/weapon concept, but its a thought)

Of course to balance it, Dire would deal a little more damage and have less hp (Then currently), Elder would remain the same, Hearty would deal less damage and have a little more hp.

And one more idea, Dire/Hearty/Elder specific skills, Dire could have a very powerful attack, Hearty could have a heavy defense stance, and Elder would get something to make them good too.

firstly... ANeT should update pet AI and buff some of the pet skills... *then* they can worry about cosmetics

Programming/skill balancing teams aren't the same as graphics team. Cosmetic updates are mostly drawing new models and skins

An interesting idea, but one that might not go over too well for those who like the way their pet looks now. I have Melandru's and Linx as pets because I like the look of the animals over the other pet possibilities currently available. I wouldn't like it too much if their looks changed from what they are now - without at least an option to opt of of the changes.

What I would like to see updated for the pets is an ability to see a level bar for them, like we have for our characters, so I know how close my pets are to leveling up. I would also like to see an option where we can have our pets viewable in towns and outposts - the same way we can toggle guild capes and the helms for our characters, as long as we keep the Charm Animal skill in the skill bar.

/agrees w/ abiity to see pets in towns and lvling bars for sure.

sidenote: If anyones tried or playing "Black/White" or Black/White:2", the animal/pet transistions or progession from good to evil and vice versa idea is quite amusing. I guess similar to Nevin's suggestions, make the look resemble the profile of the pet.
