Because of all the HOT threads that regard rank and the issues of getting into a party without having rank(threads that tand to get like 5 pages of response in 5 hours), I decided to post my idea on how to make it easier for new players and/or unraked players.
1) Make a HA noob's month, week or weekend where every group that wants to play a HA must have at least one unraked ( r < 3 ) player. If they don't have it than no go.
2.1) Make random a arena featuring the tomb (HA) maps (just like the one for team arenas)
2.2) Make the same thing as for random arenas, so random groups that win let's say 5-10 in row would get into the real HA competition (i would jump them in the real competiotn after they win the radom HoH and hold the altar for the next match)
Period.
*******************************
Advantages:
1) has some advantages, not many but would be a great experience in tombs to see r9 groups spamming for an unranked player.
Now, advantages on 2.1 and 2.2. I think many of you realised it already.
First of all all players new to the pvp scenario would have a chance to know the tombs (HA #$%) maps by heart. Of course you can watch "tv" now and get some idea about how to play the maps. But watching "TV" mostly helps players that already know what all the fuss is about.
Of course the radom partybuilder engine would be more complex than the one for CA. Waiting time should also be increased a bit. What also seems a good idea to me is to include a build template option into the servers that put 2gether the teams, namely
players who have specific build/skillbar would get a chance to be in "random" team that somewhat fits into a current build template that is run in the actual HA maps
What i`m trying to say is: if we had this random 8v8 combat arena with HA maps, and someone shutdown mesmer clicked "Enter mission" he would be put in a balanced build or somethin not in a team with 7 trappers or something like that.
Anyway... this ain't such a good idea. Cuz having it all random could leed to new builds etc. So i think there should be a select screen where you could specify:
a) random with template priority meaning you prefer a specific build template that's rahter than getting a totally random team
b) random wich would place you in an totally random built team
The list could go on and on and on and on and on....................
What do you think?
I say it would really help new players, it would be a good place to observe and recruit new players, etc...
I dunno if it was discussed already (probably yes) so i`m sorry for not searching the forum for similar posts, it just came to me so i had to let you know.
P.S. sorry for my bad english, maybe i didn't express my idea corectly, but i hope i made myself understood.
Pvp Tombs proposal. Make unraked get a chance

Juicey Shake
zaishen challenge w/ 8 man teams with set style builds of enemy builds & you can choose from the full catelog of HA maps.
done, finished, over, out, that's all you need.
and comment on his ideas, not on how rank is pointless or any of that bullshit. go to rant about rank if you want that crap.
nice ideas on 2.1 and 2.2, but I think just having it in the fashion of how zaishen challenge is ran would be more effective -- have it so you can team, or go with 7 other henchies.
maybe if they expanded the build's list for the npcs teams too, more complex teams.. blood spike, vim, full IWAY, rspike, some balanced styles.. etc.
and having it all at choice and on selected maps.. you can learn all the quirks to the maps etc.
of course none of these should award any fame or anything.

Sorry... I didn't know that the zaishen challange (i think the elite mission) is on tombs maps.
My mistake. I`ll go there and check it out.
Anyway, I that getting a real party with real people is a bit better (also having a chance to get into the real tombs/ha if the party has competent members). Maybe ANET should put both this random party on tombs thing and an option to select from many NPC class combos.
Also new players with a high tendency to play iway or whatever easy build would see how other professions and skill combos perform.
And of course, NO FAME for this random thing unless you "Earn the right to proove yourself in a greater battle", namely get promoted to the real HA maps.

2) while a separate random hoh could be nice idea , i played a little the 4vs4 random , and im pretty sure all probrem from 4vs4 random will be increased 10 times in 8v8 probably ever team wil have someone shout nasty thing , leaver , someone who try to sabotage their team etc etc.

Problem solved.
What?

I think the best idea was the bit about Zaishen expanded to be 8v8 on Tombs maps. Random Arenas just tends to not be fun 'cause of griefers, and general lack of coordination. (At least to me) I can only imagine the problem getting exponentially worse in an 8v8 situation. Though a sort of thing like Team Arenas just for practice might not be a bad idea.
I should also imagine sorting by build would be a nightmare to program.

Why would it be a nightmare? I didn't say the waiting time should be 10 seconds. If you choose to be in a prestabilished build, than you can wait 10 min (in HA you sometimes wait 30 min, 1 hour before your team gets ready, and i`m not talking only about the situation when you go with random people).
CA is a mess anyhow. So why not give 8v8 random a shot? If it fails ANET will remove it anyway and reassign the resources. The GW gamer community is getting bigger and bigger and since the PvP part is an important part of it ANET will not neglect the problems.
Also, i dunno if you realised it but TA is a good place where GvG guilds test their split builds (not just a place for people to bang noobs).
My idea was about putting together teams randomy to fight against each other, not to fight NPC's and so on. It's for the people who "just want to fight" or can't get into a group. Usually the "just want to fight people" are bored of pve and NPC's.
Anyway, I think the zaishen one is a good idea 2. Thumbs up.
