News about GW:Factions (from Gamestar Magazine)
I did find some news about GW:Factions in the current issue of the German Gamestar Magazine (translation to English by Gorani):
-Kurzicks live in those “gothic” style buildings, which we know from the official homepage.
-Luxons “look like pirates”
-You will have to earn “faction” for the Luxon/Kurzick side by doing “Missions” for either side.
-If you have enough points for either side, you can join the Luxon or Kurzick Faction
-In the “final battle” (possible last Mission both Factions have to work together (A 8-man Luxon and a 8-man Kurick team => 16 players)
-An “Alliance” can be formed by a maximum number of 10 “Guilds”
-“Alliances” with top level faction-points will hold areas (=> If you load a story map a banner with “This area is part of the Luxon realm. It belongs to Alliance “XY” appears)
-If you are member of Alliance “XY” you will get help from local NPCs (ie. mages will cast buffs on you, traders will make better prices)
-The best “Alliance” will hold the capital city and will get access to places and areas, that are forbidden to others (ie. a special balcony from where you can look down)
-How to earn faction for Luxon/Kurzick? (ie. bring quest items to the Luxon or Kurzick NPC; or on 16vs16 PvP maps with multiple goals over a period of time.)
-On a special “hold the altar” map, the Gamestar people played at ANet, there was no Death Penalty
-The main port city for Cathan will be “Shing Jae”
-Characters from Tyria can reach this port via Lion’s Arch
-A major part of Cantha will be gigantic city – the north western part of the map (with different areas: catacomb, slum, normal streets, luxury quarter)
-Gamestar people had a peek at Chapter 3, which will have a completely different look, again.
-State of completing GW:Factions => 90%
-Release (if Gamestar has a right date) 31st of March.
