customizable henchman?

i was thinking about how useless the AI of hench is and i thought of something new.......what if u can change the skills and the actions of hench? like making a more proficent healing monk or a better tanking war? i based this idea around the useless archer henchman so i was thinking like this"When a Enermy ________(caster, warrior, ranger)uses________(Skill, Spell, Signet) on________(any person, enermy ally, ally)This henchman(archer, tank, mesmer) uses_______(distracting blow, distracting shot, diversion) on______(targeted person, self, enermy caster).....so this way a hench can have a specific build.....so they can become more useful and what if they can get special armor from how much experience they earned and stuff they picked up sooo they could be just like a programmable player

That'd be wasting a lot more time than what people normally want. I hardly doubt anyone would want to spend a half an hour to an hour on customizing one henchmen when the henchmen now are pretty much good. All I can say is add more variety in henchmen, using the same henchies over and over gets boring and tiring.

This game is not about playing with henchies at all. So they we`ll be the same as they are now.

And if you would have customizable henchmen, nobody would want to do quests/missions with real people anymore because the henchmen are better anyway! They (sorta) do what you want, and real ppl don't... (I've seen many missions failed by some noob screwing up).

well, i wouldnt bother most of the time changing skills for henches, but i would like to be able to give them new wepons....sometimes i would get items that are too low for players, and not for my classess and i would think....gee, its a shame i cant give alesia that monk +5 heal skill item or that sword to stefan....
thunder, if the game wasnt made about playing with henches, why did they include them in the first place? they said you *could* play thru with them only *if you wanted to*...sugesting that it was an option for those with people issues....
if yu werent supposed to use them, they would have just made them tag along *only* in missions and only when there was more than one human but less than the max number.....*game asks befor you leave...'you have 2 slots open, do you wish to take along a couple of henchmen?'...*
granted, it would be nice to be able t6o get rid of skills that you dont need them to have....like change orions fire spells around and get rid of that auful firestorm...or give alesia a better heal spell...but i would be happy just being able to give them better weps and off hand items, and them KEEP them ^^
'hey, Stefan...you still got that nice sword i gave you back in Ascalon? well i got a better one for yah^^'

i believe this is goning to improve tomb because PUG team sucks, some times ur guildies may not online so hench could be the answer.......you dont need to waste time if Anet already made a couple of model of PVP or PVE builds (energy denial mes, interupting ranger, trapper, stance tank) the specific build would be only used if u want to make a new type
EDIT: i would also like to see a "hench in a can" type of thing so if a party member leaves(*gasp*) you can have a specificly built henchman to replace him/her
