Smite Crawlers: Usable Corpse?
DarkCloudInc
In UW, are Smite Crawlers useable corpses? Is it possible that spells that target corpses like consume corpse can target their corpses once they're dead?
Seren!ty
Yes, you can
Lasareth
I was under the impression that they could not be... at least the necro mentioned that last time we were down there. I also was unable to make them bleed, so I'm leaning towards "no" on this one...
kitten
you can't use putrid explosion on smites, as in, their bodies don't explode... so i think they AREN'T useable corpses.
SaucE
I know you can raise Fiends from them for sure.
darkMishkin
I know you can putrid explosion them. For sure.
fiery
Aren't they ghostly? ghastly type? like the Eternal Horses in the PVE Tombs?
Cherno
I used to use putrid explosion on them. But a few updates back (when they made ghosts non-exploitable), it stopped working.
I will try again when I go down next, but I am going to say for now that they used to be, but you can't anymore.

i tried PE on them last night - it DOES NOT work.

So then what would be an effective way to eliminate the Smite Crawlers? Bring Deathly Chill or something?
Cherno
Suffering works pretty well, even if nothing else than a cover for SS. Parasitic Bond(?) also works nicely but only against a single target. SV helps to keep their adrenaline and energy low if you are using a tank to hold them.
It kind of depends on your build and group makeup. They don't like fire.

Well, the group is Mo/W and N/Me. Mo/W Tanks, I do the damage. The only problem in this case is that they, well, have smite hex. So I need something that does immediate damage.
Lasareth
Desecrate enchantments is nice for some extra damage, as well.

1. Archane Echo
2. SV your Tank
3. When the first SV is about to elapse cast echo'd SV
4. Wait a moment then cast Awaken the Blood
5. SS on one smite
6. Suffering for a cover if you want, but most of the time they are now dead.

I usually don't bother with echo'ing SV. It doesn't seem worth it to me. I cast it initially wait about 5-8 seconds, use awaken the blood use SS and suffering as a cover you can also echo SS if you want but they usually die fast enough for me with one. I also saw someone recommended parasitic bond as a cover hex- that's a very good cover hex, low energy cost quick cast and quick recharge. If you don't have SV use SS and spam parasitic bond.

I agree a few patch's back the smites where like any other type of crawler; could be poisoned and diseased; exploited for minions dmg ect...
if i had 1 left(or by himself random chance) I could use rotting flesh; they carry Mend Condtion (target other ally) but they fixed that a week ago or somthing maybe longer...
For me I can get all smites within 1 SV; some times ill echo SV for energy sake.

I used to only use SV for the smite portion but have started using it (non-echo'd) for graspings as well.
