What did yesterday's (2/13) update change?

Last night when I logged on GW, I noticed a small update, but found nothing on the official update page. Does anyone else know anything about this update?

Was doing a series of grenths runs, usually say if I found 20 chests, possibly i would get 10 or more having gold items, lately 4 runs, 1 gold out of 20.

They have a personal vendetta against me :\


One day they musta decided to rub it in, by giving me a SOTW with +45hp and +6 armor (charr) - but 12 tactics...

So unfair it was, so very unfair lol


Personally I think the drop rate % has been dropped again

who besides me thinks it might improve relations a bit if they had a separate update catagory for those tiny updates that you might miss if you sneezed a few times?

On the flip side, me and my guildies have been getting more good drops recently. I usually get one rune on average per mission now. Not that they're useful, but its better than no runes...

I think chests in the southern shiverpeaks and the fire isle area(and FoW/Underworld) should drop golds only and no more purple crap. Spending 600+ gold on a key to only get crappy purple items worth no more than the merchant value is just rrrriiiiidiculous.

My friend and I have not had any good drops in weeks! Even if we avoid the area for several days :/

I agree! If you spend that much for a key, you should get something better then a purple. At least starting from the Shouthern Shiverpeaks on.

my solo farming has been totally ruined too.. no more good drops after hours of farming solo today.

If anyone wants to know what the actual reason is, Gaile said that it was stuff to prepare for the GWWC, and it has nothing to do with anything in game related. If you want to see for yourselves it's in the latest Gaile talk, the first part.

I actually had some good luck farming last night and this morning. Got about four purples and a gold as well as two XP scrolls.

Funny. I was just thinking this morning how much better the drops have been for me lately. I was beginning to think ANet had been listening to people complain about them. I guess maybe it's just been my turn for some good ones. I had been going through a drought before.

I guess this is the farming pizz and moan post now.....thought that was already covered about a thousand times on this forum? :-/ Thanks for actually answering the question Chadatog.

after the update, Lions Arch and Random Arenas were getting messages in yellow text asking everyone to please port in to District 1 at the same time.

I believe they were attempting to fix the bug that kicks you out of GW when you TRY to port in to a full district... the error messages says you have been kicked because someone has just logged in on your account.

Was is everyone reaction to unlisted update farming nerf

If kitten didn't post the above response, I would say it's more C2 code / prep work for the upcoming weekend. A lot of code was pushed before the 1st pvp preview way before it went live.

Most people don't realize that over farming an area lowers your drop rate until you rotate your crops and farm in other zones.

To everyone else: please stop ranting, this update has nothing to do with loot dropping.

If the chests always dropped good items, people would only farm chests and never anything else. You are supposed to lose money on average farming chests, but you could find that expensive weapon that is worth it. It is a gamble.

Everytime there is an update, there is almost always a post saying how spot X got nerfed because they haven't received good drops. Almost always, it's false.
