Can I Salvage out Runes and add-on?

If i get a purple item, saying blahblah unlocked.
can i salvage them with expert salvage kit or normal salvage kit for the runes strings and other stuff?

Yes you can. Like if you got a vampiric sword then you can possible get a vampiric sword hilt.

DO i have to use a EXPERT SALVAGE KIT?

Yes, normal savage kits will only salvage raw material. Expert salvage kits are required to get the upgrade components from an item. Be aware this only gives you a chance to salvage the upgrade not a gurantee.

thats true. Expert salvaging will only do the work. It is what will get you rare crafting materials runes and upgrade items. But its still very risky to do that cause you have the possibility to not get that item. But that has only happen to me like only once or twice.

My experience has been that I only get upgrades on an object dropped that is marked "Unidentified". Once I identify it, it (sometimes) tells me there are upgrades attached, and then I can expert salvage them out. Has anyone gotten an upgrade out of a expertly salvaged drop that was NOT marked unidentified first? If not, this could save us some expert salvage kits!

No I think you have to get the item unlocked message before you can get anything like that

Yes that's what I'm saying. When identifying an item marked "Unidentified", it sometimes yields the ITEM UNLOCKED message showing upgrades/runes attached. It is in these instances that I have received an upgrade/rune from an expert salvage kit. So really it seems there's no need to 'waste' expert salvage kits on an item just because it's purple, etc hoping to get a rune/upgrade out of it unless it was first marked "Unidentified".

Or maybe I'm the only one who was trying to get upgrades from everything :-\
