most Kryta area creatures... I can handle the mursaat in small doses as well as ice imps.

Groups of Titans... and them crumbling into other creatures... buggers.

Agree on anything that pops-up or patrols.
Especially unpleasant when they pay you a visit on the Res shrine and won't leave till you have max DP...

PUGs are by and far the WORST monsters you'll ever run into. Some are nice and good. Others will just kill you on the spot.... Want to fail a mission in the most dramatic fashion possible? Most of the time, a PUG will be responsible.

Damn devourers. Every three frikkin meters in all of Ascalon has its own hive of devourers. And then in the shiverpeaks, you think, oh boy, no more devourers! But how wrong you are... they turn up again, and again, and again, and again...

Plus, I want to curse every time a titan spawns. I despise them. The last thing I want to deal with is some idiotic tripod growing a new buddy from his own corpse while I'm busy on his friend. I must confess, a good deal of my aggravation is because I sometimes forget about the spawn, but it's still annoying, damnit!

one thing that never fails to kill me is a warrior who thinks he can take on the world agros 8 different mobs starts dying and runs back to the monk with the mobs and wants a heal or 6

Monsters that appear throughout the game with only a slight name change and a different colour....Lazy programming at it's worst. Especially when they burrow out of the ground every 5 steps or so. At one point I thought I was playing one of the Japanese RPG's with random combat all the time.

Anything that pops out of the ground or falls from a tree is annoying. Spiders, scorpions, AUGH! THEY JUST MAKE EVERYTHING SO FREAKIN LONG! I was going to chuck the computer out the window. Jeezus.

This is what they need for those GORE ENGINE GORE ENGINE bugs.

100 gold in the merchant. Repels all Stupid things that pop out of the ground and fall out of trees for 1/2 hour until you complete the quest. Anything that pops out is automatically killed.

lol.

Bugs and wind riders top my list.

Rockshot Devourers - I can typically deal with them, but on the times I don't want to and decide to run, I seem too aggro three more hordes while trying to get away from the original spawn. That, and when I finally am able to come back after shaking their aggro, they tend to hang around and guard that which I had originally intended to kill.

Scarabs (espically Jades) - Alone, they are just annoying... Too bad they travel in packs. Only creature I've ever seen use a Vamp Touch spike. My true loathing for these came to be while I was trying to complete the "Monk's Path".

Since there are staves and such of 'pruning' which deal +damage to plants, why the hell don't we have a mod of RAID or something similar?

Wind Riders (espically Storm Kin) - Pissed me off in Maguuma with their ability to REPEATEDLY interrupt anything with more than a 3/4 second cast, and finally made me loathe them when you apparently come across their breeding ground outside of Seeker's Passage. Why is it that these buggers have the tendency to bee-line it to your face from way out in East BumbleRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO when your hands are allready full with their buddies?

Avacaria Fierces - (Ignite Arrows + Dual Shot) X 8 = Why do I even bother?

Other things that get an honorable mention -

*Anything with STUPID amounts of knockdowns
*Anything with STUPID amounts of snaggs/slowdowns
*Anything that cycles a single spell between members of the group to make sure you can't do anything on your way to the afterlife (Shock, Meteor, Malestrom, Cry of Frustration, etc.)
*Anything that does more than 100 damage per NORMAL attack (Bladed Ataxes, this means you)
*Anything that can outheal a group of 8
*Anything that rezzes
*Anything that has enough armor to put Fort Knox to shame

Having just done Abbadons mouth.. we had 1 monk, mhenlo, me as necro and the rest were warriors... tell you what, Willa went down a lot faster than I expected. The other mission where I like a lot of warriors is Thirsty river. I was playing monk and ended up physically exhausted watching the pace they (all 5 of them) were mowing through the mission.

Plague, your post (page 2) was fantastic. Thanks.

As for me, I just hate finding the devourers all over the damn place. They're not really a challenge to kill no matter what I'm doing but they'll just harass you everywhere you go. They're like some annoying company that calls you up twice a day to ask if you want new, even more transparent windows. Popups are naturally the most annoying variety. You see your objective, think "I'll just walk over that way around those minotaurs", but no you don't have that privelige, and while you're doing that minotaurs come across to help. At least you aren't killing minotaurs starting in ascalon. They're a plague, across all of Tyria.

I can live with imps, though they're no doubt annoying especially since mind freeze was increased to 90%. They have a purpose - snares are there to make you consider if you can win a fight before charging in because pulling back is made (more) problematic. It is quite annoying to fight pinesouls in the shiverpeaks though, in those mobs they're usually the last things I'd go for, and naturally you step on their barbed traps, kill them and have to wait about 20 seconds after the end of the fight to recover.

Avicara, Tengu - I hate dying to them. I hate Avicaras. It's that noise they make. It's like they're running around shouting about how they're going to eat your pets and use your hair and skin in their pillows - but worst is if you give them a chance and they will. The Avicara mobs are tough (especially the 6-12 kindle spikers in mineral springs, they eat henchmen for sunday dinner) and I give them a strange sort of respect. Across the 'world' mobs should be more like these - just quieter.

Bring on the Monk bosses. If you take a mesmer they aren't annoying.

Heh, good thing I read the whole thread. I was going to post this, too, since I just did The Monk's Path last night. Nothing like being swarmed by 20 Jades, eh?

Holy crap I hate those things!

People. People in general. They themselves suck, but point out the flaws in each other while denying their own in the most profane, vulgar way possible. Yes, I'm a cynic. Yes, I work in consumer relations. Yes, I play Guild Wars, the online MMO. You find the connection.

Oh, and Forgotten Sages. They have one of the best emergency healing spells in the game: Word of Healing, and there is almost always another one around that comes over to see what the noise is about, thus granting the first one an almost god-like immortality. When I don't play as my Mesmer when fighting those things, I often wonder why I chose not to play as my Mesmer or why I didn't invite another Mesmer along for the ride. Then I bang my head against a tree. Several times.

1. Devourers of any sort. I swear every MMO I've played has one type of mob you can literally level from one to cap off of.

2. All those pyschic enchant shatterers/strippers/renders/smiters. Especially when they take a time out in the middle of a melee with my Warriors to turn and shatter/strip/rend/smite my enchants. Cause omg, my Earth Attunement was really kicking their ass!

3. Anything with Cry of Frustration. I've tried, and tried, and tried, but I'm no where near as fast and with as perfect timing as the mobs are. Is anyone?

Any and all foes that "pop" into the area as a sort of suprise attack. Includes, roaches (scarabs), rockshots and all their family, wraiths and all other "ghosts". For the soon to be released factions, I read something about assassins that will do the same.
None of these are very hard, they just annoy me to no end. When I see them, I often emit a "cry of frustration".

This is so far my favorite post. I laughed so hard. I used to work in, uhh, customer[cough] relations as well. Never again... I enjoy how some people go out of their way to make the game miserable for anyone but themselves for no reason other than to do just that. Such pleasant people in the world today. lol

Scarabs, Devourers, and most of all, Aloes.

Why?

Cuz they're LAME ideas for enemy types. Maybe giant bugs would be cool, and bu giant, I mean big as houses. But Aloe? C'mon, people make lotion outta that!

Oh, and titans, they look like crap, and were not at all the 600foot tall dudes whose head you could barely see in the clouds.

I would have to say that the bane of PvE for me is when I come across some lone creature that is mixed in with other completely different creatures just because of the devs paranoia of repeating Diablo II/LoD. For example, a lone Dwarven Heretic in a mob with Blessed Griffons. A group of Blessed Griffon mobs with a single Avacara fierce in there. Is there some kind of avacara alliance or are these guys just traitors that managed to make friends with the griffons?

My bane would also be creatures that are created/placed in order to screw up solo builds/bots. I guess this would include the random scarabs/devourers and the 'ninjas' we see coming in Factions. I'm obviously not a bot (unless this is the Matrix or something). I'm not a big farmer either, but seeing things like this kinda break the illusion of being in a virtual world for me. Maybe I'm just too much of an old school RP'er or something. At least they came up with a story when they added the new scarabs/queen in the desert. I can buy that.

Oh, and I just love to kill Imps :-)
