Warrior Secondarys - Frustrated, help plz

Well I've now restarted the game twice and currently considering a 3rd. Once I realized the "size" of the game, the content, number of quests and missions, I figured it was worth re-rolling till I found a class combo that I really enjoyed.

I found that I liked warrior a lot and have decided on that as a primary. My problem lies in deciding a seconday. Currently I have a ranger as my secondary. It's not really working out as planned. So I guess I'm starting out for the 3rd time now...

I'm leaning towards a War/Mo or War/Ne. I haven't played either secondary classes so I'm up in the air about how they play. I plan on playing a lot of PvE with some PvP down the line. I play with my girlfriend so doing all the PvE stuff is fun. Can anyone shed some light on game play between these two secondaries? Advantages and Disadvantages etc.

Thanks

War/Mo - is basically a self healer probably the easiest class to not screw up. The limit here is the lack of energy. war/Ne can get a bit more creative depending on which area of NECRO you stress. I have a warrior that concentrates on life and energy stealing that is pretty fun.

Yes, if you intend to play solo a lot, the Wa/Mo allows for self healing which can offset the damage you take.

However, if you team with your girlfriend or others often, the whole self-healing aspect isn't as important, especially when teamed with a healer-based player.

The Wa/Mo is good because it's adaptable for either situation... a monk secondary gives one access to Smiting Prayers, which can increase a warrior's total output damage and makes dealing with the undead in PvE much easier. Attribute refund points can be used to move points between Healing Prayers and Smiting Prayers depending on the situation.

A good "duo" couple setup is a Wa/Mo damage dealer with access to some basic healing and smiting prayers, along with a Mo/Mes or Mes/Mo who deals with healing, disruption and conditions. These complement each other well, and it's always easy to find Rangers and Elementalists to fill out a larger party later on.

I guess I should have pointed this out, but my girlfirend plays a Monk/Ele. So I'm guessing now that the War/Mo might not be the way to go? Would the added healing outweight playing a diff secondary class?

no if she is planning on concretating on healing you would get more use out of a different class

Hmm ok so War/Necro would fit in well I suppose? Also this is off topic, but can a war/necro farm well?

I fell yes as they have a large array of bonus to you for damage to them type spells making even harder kills easier for all within your party.

I play a War/Necro, and I enjoy it a lot. At the beginning stages Life Siphon helped a lot. Now I sometimes still use that, and Corpse Siphon (forgot the name ). I just bought a Zealous Sword so that helps a lot with the energy. So, in PVE i'm a good damage dealer/tank and I can heal myself to an extent.

In PVP, I'm a good damage dealer / debuffer. I like to go after monks, or secondary monks. That way I can get rid of their enchantments and dispose of them quickly.

It's a fun class, you'd probably enjoy it.

I've been playing an ele/nec and just recently started a warr/mes and i love it. Crowd control, energy drains, dd and the sword skills seem to go together really well in pve.

Yes, but I heard it's very late in the game (lvl 20)? I really want to experience the development of my primary and secondary while adventuring through the levels.

Sounds cheesy I know...but hey I spent 5 yrs playing Everquest endless grinding away..having fun now

Then stick to having fun and don't get too caught up on making the perfect build. Just pick one and experience it. You can always create another character later. I know my Warrior/Ranger character is not ideal and is not being used to its fullest, but I enjoy playing this as the character I made is a pretty colorful one.

I don't know from experience but I hear War/Elem does the most amount of damage a warrior can do. If you have your own healer then you may want to consider that.

War/Mes could useful for PvE spell casters, slowing, and the skill that gives you a 75% dodge chance at the cost of energy.

Necro and Monk are not your only choices.

If you have some one you will always PvE with that is a Monk there is another avenue. It wont be as effective if your are not paired. But use the ever so popular W/Mo mix so you can take care of yourself and kill, kill, kill. But set the Monk up as smiting. I have a level 20 Mo/E (but not a single point in E!) for PvE, 10 Healing, 10 +1 Smite, 1 Protection, 10 +1 Divine and 15 skill points in the bank (not sure how Im going to use yet). I cannot take advantage of any Protection Prayers but the Smite's are very powerful.
I have enough Healing power to keep the group up but can contribute significantly with Smite spells against mass groups attcking a single player. This effect is dramatically enhanced if there are two monks in the group. Then the healing spells can be halved for each and the Smite spells increased. I look forward to someone getting hexed in the group! I could also move my Divine Favor into Elementalist's Fire or Air and do some real damage! But then Id only be healing myself and that pisses just about everydofy off in PvE.
After playing the monk it's unfortunate (for PvE) the class is severly restricted by the greater communities expectation. I know I can come up with a Mo/W that will be a power house for PvE at later levels.

After much though I decided on a War/Nec to play side by side with my girlfriends Mo/Ele. However I'm also making a Mo/War after reading several comments from players. Seems like a very interesting combo to play with.

Thanks for the feeback everyone.
