Secondary Proffesions and Attribute Points

If I choose a second proffesion will I get more attribute points per level? The reason I ask this is because if I spread my attribute points out evenly between my two proffesions (Me/M) then Ill have half as many points in my Mesmer attributes as lets say a mesmer who decided not to take a second proffesion. That, of course is assuming that I dont get any extra attribute points per level compared to someone who didnt choose a second proffesion. Sorry if its a little confusing but can anyone who knows what i mean please respond? I'll only choose one proffesion if I know that ill be twice as effective as someone who chose my proffesion plus a secondary one.

You get the same amount of attribute points regardless of whether you choose one profession or two. I would recommend taking a second profession even if you intend to put no points into it. This will give you access to more skills and give you many more options down the road if you decide you want to put points into your secondary.

Correct, you get the same number of points either way.

But it doesn't really matter, because you can't enter the academy and get to Post-Searing Ascalon unless you've taken your second profession.

Has this been confirmed lately? I've always thought that it was this way but when I told someone this the other night over local chat others were arguing that they had changed it. I still believe that you need 2 professions before entering the academy but apparently others are under a different opinion.
