Ettin Farming.

Hello, I want to just post about my Ettin farming, Kinda board, need something to do while I farm them



Here is the Map of the area, Blue squares = Where Ettins are usually at, they are not always there, but almost always, Green square is where u want to leave from, then the Yellow square = the place you want to keep Re-Zoning so you dont have to run to Ettins from beattleton with birds chasing you, Once your full just map back to Beattleton, I can do a few runs before I need to Map back to town.



Here are some of the drops I got in the last hour 1/2 about, I only have gotten 6 golds so far in maybe 3 hours, 4 was superior 2 was major, thats how I came up witht he 66% chance of the gold being superior, I did get 2 but I decided to take pictures after I already got one, but heres some, I'll probably post more pictures later.

Attribs: (need to do both attribute quest) (you can boost your attributes higher if you use major/superior runes which I dont)
11 axe
12 strength
10 healing

Skills:
1)Cyclone Axe (Gain your Hp from hitting groups of them with this)
2)Eviscerate (Get from a boss in Hell's Prec Mission, Adrenaline move)
3)Executinor's Strike (Good damage dealing Adrenaline move)
4)PeneTration Blow (Another Damage Adrenaline move)
5)Dolyak Signet (use this when i'm fighting about 12, they take too much damage out, this helps alot, most dont use it)
6)Vigous Spirit (Last 30 seconds, Must keep resetting)
7)Live Vicariously (Enchantment, at 10 health, both this and vigious spirit will give you +20 Hp each time you kill a monster)
8)Sprint (This is to use when you leave from beattleton, two groups of birds you need to sprint past)

Well This is how I work it, I dont use an Interrupt skill, seems pointless with all the other adrenaline axe skills, I just kill them without it, dosnt make it harder, just less to worry about.

i like the eviscerate but i really think it lowers your survival chances can be replaced by healing hands Glads defence but i dont know too much about ettin farming

Great post, i never tried farming these, although i have 15k glad from griffon's

I wouldn't recommend using Gladiator's defense as ettins start to knock you down when you block their attacks. I use W/Me with Cleave/Penetrating combo as it's very fast recharged and Disrupting chop to stop their healing signets. And for self defense Dolyak, "Watch Yourself" and mesmer's Physical Resistance as this stance lasts forever even with zero inspiration.

Well for ettin farming you sould NOT use the block skills becouse then they Knock you down, and then you would need anti-KD stuff.. But with an axe build, then the interupt skill that also disable the healing sig for 20 sec is great..

Dolyak Defence makes it where u cant get knocked down, so it dosnt matter, just extra defence so against the big groups
This build works fine lol, its seems impossible to die if you use it right.
Got another gold, I'll post more drops later.

1 funny thing about this ettin farming,.... I have been doing a few runs now and drops is like: 2 golds + a few purple... But NONE of the blue.. Its kinda strange Lol =P

eles for ettin farming works great 15 seconds flath they dead

nice one but there is already a thread about this. Once you are done with this run just zone to nebo and go east of the settlement and there are more there. usually they drop more gold pauldrons compared to the ones close to bettlerun

Ive gotten 3 sup vigors from those..and every other sup, except absorb

Yah shadow, the 1st time I tried it i got 4 gold in 1 hour and only 3 purple, was pretty weird lol.

Try to go sword instead of an axe. I was playing with that and you can easily take an ettin down in a few seconds using artery-gash-final thrust. You don't even have to disrupt their healing because they are usually dead before the healing signet ends

maybe 20 seconds for the odd ettin that keeps healing at the wrong time :P\

Penetrating Blow - DPS for odd ettin that's left alive
Cyclone Axe - Chips away health, gives health and adrenline
Disrupting Chop - Use when they heal
Sprint - Run run run!
Healing Breeze - Emergancy Heal, can use something else if you want
Vigorous Spirit - Primary Heal
Live Vigorusly (sp) - Primary Heal
Balazthalar's Spirit - Energy

Axe - High as possible, I use 14
Rest Strength, Healing Prayer

Just agro a bunch, cast Vigourous, and start cycloning. If there's 3 or more pounding on you, you should have infinate energy and adrenline as long as you cyclone. When the one you are attacking heals, disurpt it. Switch target. Your cyclones will finish it off. Ettin farming is really easy actually, I just can't get any good runes =.=...

Oh, I use a mixture of Victo's Axe and a max 15^50 vamp 3:1 armor +5 axe plus Thorgall's Shield.

I toyed with sword using my IDS that has a "Enchantments last 20% Longer" Pommel and Victos Blade combo with 11 sword instead of 11 axe.

1. hundered blades
2. galrath slash
3. gash
4. server artery (also her ei tried final thrust.
5)Heal Area (for emergencies)
6)Vigous Spirit
7)Live Vicariously
8)Sprint

After messing with this I went back to using an axe. took less time and I didnt die once. I ended up getting 4 sup runes one in which was a sup vigor.

thanks, i went farming for 2 hours and got a second sup vigor rune. I use only that axe build. no deaths and takes only about 20 seconds per ettin. one guy didnt beleive me so i took him on a run, had him die in the beginning, and watch. 2 purples fell with his name on them, i sat and waited while they became mine then grabbed them, lol. twas no big deal, he wasnt aggro about it, just happy that i showed him how its done.
