Why not? It says in the guild status screen when we get a new member or when a member has been kicked. Why not when they leave?

I think this could make it hard for some guilds to exist. If a few people leave the guild, it could be demoralizing. The remaining people might join the bandwagon. Or if you join a guild whose most recent actions are all people leaving, you might start with a bad impression of the guild.

It's similar to being random-invited to a pvp group, and when you join, you see all the people in the district are also invited.

For more organized and tighter-knit guilds, they will know when someone leaves since they know everyone (and the person leaving would probably let them know about it anyway).

If anything, maybe only the guild leader and maybe the officers should see who has left.

I have had a lot of leavers in my guild and believe me I know how it feels especailly the time you spent with them.I think we all know who has left or not and it can be seen in the guild status.I would have to say that today players are looking for guild to get them power leveled or their armor. This is just another way to exploit the game exploiting guilds.I will /sign it but I know who has come and gone.

As a guild leader who updates the guild/clan website(s) roster weekly it would be great to know who has left just as we know who has joined in the guild status window. it would help us keep records easier.

EDIT :

This has been brought up before(not sure if here @ GURU) but I say yes, departing members should pay the game 100g for leaving/quitting a guild as a recruiter does for getting them in. /signed

The 100g fee was only to stop random guild invites to people who just don't want one.

Then a 100g fee to leave a guild might slow/stop all the people just joining guilds looking for handouts???

I would like it if it was revealed to the officers and the leader so they could discussed it among themselves about how to improve the guild to prevent future leavers.

Well personaly I don't really care when someone leaves my guild but it would help me figure out why somedays my guild feels smaller than others.

I can not actualy see it jumping out of the computer and poking in the eye resulting in having to get one wicked awesome eye patch, so I guess it would be ok.

It would be nice to either have the 100 gold paid back, or just have them have to pay 100 gold as a gold sink, especially if they leave the guild shortly after being invited/accepting to join. I had two players ask to be invited to my guild recently, and then a couple days of joining, said they changed their minds and left. Nice.

Well some guilds just don't care if you leave. I was in one for the longest time but never got any help from any of the leaders or members if I needed anything. They had their scheduled power lv days and runs to the desert which are all fine but how about actually helping members beat some missions? The guild I was in would be chatting away on guild chat, there would be about 10 people on and I'd ask "anyone available to help me with THK?" and the chat would go silent for half an hour I guess in the hopes I might think they left or something. This didn't happen once but MANY times. I gave up, it was enough so I left. No one PMed me to find out why yet I am sure they knew I had gone. Its been a couple weeks now. And should I have to pay 100g to leave? No I do not believe I should, but I would have paid more then that to get out of that less then helpful guild.

I agree
The 100g was introduced not only to stop random guild invites but also to think as an officer of a guild or the leader about who you are inviting into your guild. It is the responsibility of that officer/leader to get to know the person before inviting randomly.. and although I admit you can never really know for sure who you invite let alone if they will stay, I dont think people should pay for leaving a guild... Say someone says they do lots of GvG and that's the kind of guild you are looking for.. but once in that guild they GvG only once a week.. then who would want to pay for leaving that guild? Exactly, nobody
Of course there are exceptions.. and I admit I've had people leave the guild without any explanation too, but I just dont see Anet introduce it any time soon.

Otherwise /signed if only officers and leaders see who left

Quoted for my sign conditions:

Only officers and leader should be able to see when someone leaves, otherwise it can make a poor impression on new members.
