Does anyone ever use this?

Seriously. I can see that the only real downside is that it takes up a slot (and uses one strike of adrenaline from other such skills), so it's almost free... but the effect is so wimpy.

I know a lot of people would argue over what the weakest skill is, but I've never even heard of someone trying to use this skill. Maybe someone else can explain it to me. It just seems ... pointless.

EDIT: This was supposed to be for the skill "Fear Me!". Somehow it seems to have not attached itself to that. Sorry, mods, if I broke something!

AOE energy loss, and it doesn't cost you energy to use it. What's not to love? Just be thankful this skill was toned down from the Beta version- it's excellent now, but it was NUTS back then. (1-6 energy loss)

W/Me is a class I like to play, and "Fear Me!" and Blackout are good reasons to do so. "Fear Me!" is a very, very good skill.

it is also funny to have someone shout about "fear me" all the time.

its has become a running gag, i love it when our small monk girlie throws herself into an already lost battle and she is desperately shouting "Fear me!" even though she aint warrior secondary.

OT:
i heavent tried in PvP, but it has been definetly helpful in PvE.
it may sound crappy, but i guess the spammability helps alot.

sadly i could not say how much energy you are able to steal with it in a certain time.

An important distinction:

You don't "steal" energy when you use "Fear Me!", it's just energy loss on all enemies in a small radius. The range needs to be clarified, I believe it's about half the aggro bubble.

You don't actually steal energy, for yourself, do you?
That would be very different.

I guess I just play too many Elementalists, or something.

Three energy seems like such a small amount to lose.

Three energy seems like such a small amount to lose. 3 energy may not sound like much. But imagine two warriors spamming that skill every couple seconds. It does stack up fast. Your team will never have energy with warriors running that and a mesmer draining you.

This build when spammed with 3-4 warriors is overpowered. Its range is extremely large and has the ability to shut down an entire opposing team assuming it is in the area. And in most HA situations this is the case, battles are fought within area ranged fields. On alter matches it has the ability to shut down 2 complete teams if used correctly.

I suggest a decrease in this skills range. It will still be effective if set at only adjacent targets, instead of all targets in the area.

Also taking in mind the new elite skill that gives you adrenalin for easily met condition [skill]steady stance[/skill]. Combine it with desp. blow and you will spam Fearm me as never before. Many stated it is imba.

yep, fear me is not balanced...both in gvg and HA (ghostly heroes energy and capture is 5 energy)
...also SF and grenth needs to be nerfed as well

Fear Me! itself isn't something to write home about. Its a great skill when it can be spammed, but on its own it wouldn't be nerfed.

The current day excessive use of it comes more from the addition of Steady Stance.

Steady Stance is by far the easiest and strongest Energy to Adrenaline conversion in the game. "Fear Me!" factors in because the spam friendly nature of its effect meshes well with the adrenaline Steady is pumping out.

Tbh I think people have overused confused with overpowered. SF eles, Steady Stance Fear Me, etc. They aren't overpowered, but because you see them too often people get sick of it and scream nerf.

Fear Me has always been there and is just the same as it ever was, but because there is a build using it now everybody copies it. The skill is no better than it ever was, Fear Me spam could be used before too, but there was no build using it for everyone to copy, and people can't think for themselves how to use a skill well.

Hope that wasn't to me, since I never used the terms overused or overpowered, nor did I call for a nerf :\

Its not used enough to really even be noticed...

It's really fun when you use it with auspicious perry. Spammable and effective. One of my favorite warrior builds is tactics max, with auspicious, the riposte skills, and fear me / shields up or watch yourself. The other players can dish out the damage, you just disrupt, drain lots and lots of energy, and increase your teams armor. Our guildies have used this build with three warriors and a paragon hero in SF just for fun. It was a slaughter.

Its being increasingly used in halls at the moment. 4/5 teams who have consecutive hall wins are Fear Me spikes combined with a defensive earth ele or dual paragons and 2 monks. SF is not overpowered because it has many many counters. It is very difficult to counter a skill that can drain 12-16 energy per second to EVERYTHING in the area.

If too many people start using it, and everyone complains about it enough because they can't counter it, Anet will nerf it. See: Paragons.
