So I saw this guy playing a Mo/R the other day..and I asked him why he said he wasn't sure but it was a diff kind of build. Can you think of ne reasons to roll a mo/r over a r/mo?

was this Monk using a bow?

there really aren't many reasons to go Ranger secondary as a Healing/Prot Monk imo... maybe some skills like Mel Resiliance {E} or other stances... iono

Then there's a good chance he had a mental deficiency. Like Valerius said, there's no real reason for a monk to go Mo/R.

I use mo/r for the stances (storm chaser, dryders defenses), who the hell needs energy management except for the ones who can't manage it wisely. They make elite skills out of crappy energy giving spells because you can't keep yourself from overhealing etc.

I've been playing a Mo/R... it's a weird build. I can see that defensive stances could help a lot later on, and Melandru's Resilience + Martyr (is Martyr elite? I can't remember...) should work as energy management (if it doesn't kill you). But, yeah, going straight heals seems effective enough for PvE, but I'd really prefer Mo/N.

But.... a Mo/R with a bow? That doesn't mix. Mo/R is a defensive healer, R/Mo is an offensive spammer. No mixie.

No M/R is good because they can go a 55 and use the running skills of a ranger and the healing of the monk to make it......i do that sometimes...using the bow is weird tho :/

I just created a PvE monk and chose to go R as secondary purely for the defensive stances.

I rarely use much from my secondary until later in the game when doing challenge areas where builds are somewhat specific. So with my concentration being on support, if for some reason I get into a bind and become the enemies intended punching bag, I can activate whirrling defense or dodge or other skills to keep healing until I can take them back to the tank or get away if I have to start group ressing.

Only time I used a bow was in presearing when I actually had to fight and couldn't take henchies with me. Higher attack and range without requirements. I still keep some of my presearing bows all through the game.

No plans on using secondary, and in trying to unlock all the skills of the game, had run outta classes to put in combo. (ie...third character, W/E, N/Me, so only two classes left are Mo/Ra or Ra/Mo, and he doesn't like Rangers).
