How to have 8 level 15 Henches for Sanctum Cay.
Poster55
Hello. I recently wrote GW Support about this and they told me that this is not a bug and is working as designed. To me it feels somewhat like an exploit but since they are okay with it, I am going to share it with the community ^_^
If you go to Temple of Ages (ToA) and grab 7 henches, then travel to Sanctum Cay, (do not stop at fishermans on the way), your party will be 8/6, and you can do the mission with 8 level 15 henches Makes the mission much easier for those of you out there using henches to solo it.

If this was an exploit, then partying with level 20's to do the mission is also an exploit.

7 isn't an exploit really; but if you figured out some way to get 8 henchies, I'd call hax.

You do know it can be run very easily by 1 person, right?
Maybe that's an exploit... but I enjoy doing it

It feels like an exploit due to the fact that sanctum cay is only supposed to have a maximum party of 6. Doing it this way you can do the mission with a party of 8 members

Look at it this way: you have to either run or fight--alone or with the people you'll be running Sanctum through--all the way from ToA to there. Depending on your level, I'd say you EARNED those 2 extra henchmen helping you into the desert.
Nice tip.

Diablo???
better yet (or crazier), party with all your lvl 20 friends in ToA, and head down to sanctum cay for a 8 lvl 20 mission...
as if the mission wasn't easier already....

I wonder if you can use the map travel and keep your 8 party members... for those that already have both places on their map..
Edit: Tried map travel. Says party is too large, guess the only way is to walk there

I am going to agree with Savio, 8 lvl 15 henchmen in your party and you would have my interest...and prolly be banned for exploiting bugs

Besides the drops must be horrible if you went in with 8 instead of 6?

Heck I go to ToA and get 8 players and run back to Dragons gullet for the final titan quest... Is that a hax? of course not... Its been there since beta, and is used often.
I think i did that for the bonus on Sanctums Cay, cause I could not get there with regular henchies, and NO ONE was wanting the bonus there. everyone always wants run through it to get to the desert... so finding a decent PUG for something as basic as getting the bonus. well All I can say is I'm glad ToA option is there...
BTW. Some points you can go into and maintain 8/6 players... but others you can not... If your running to the Dragons Gullet don't bother going into any map points... Just go straight to the quest area without town stops... Its long yes... but its definatly worth it for that final Titan quest to have a 8 player group...

Wow thats quite a trek..

old news. most competent runners to the desert start in TOA so that they can run 7 people instead of 5.

and here is an official earlier answer on this subject

Yep, as others have pointed out we're reasonably happy to allow players to do this. It's a Feature, not a Bug . Basically, if anyone wants to take the time to travel from ToA to another area just so they can have 8 in their group, that's ok. Same philosophy we have with the Drok's running. __________________ Alex 'GhostRaptor' Weekes Guild Wars Community Relations NCsoft Europe |

There actually is an 'exploit' to this mission funnily enough. As i don't play pve any more im happy to let it out the bag (unless it has already been done or changed by an update )
Basically if you solo run the mission you can finish the mission without triggering the mobs by following a simple procedure. When you get to the end when you get to the docks simply approach the location where Vizier will spawn very slowly in very small movements until he spawns then don't go any further forward. If you do this correctly the mobs of white mantle that normal charge you won't be spawned and you can just wait for Viz to summon the ship.

My friend and I ran with henchies from ToA and did the Cay mission. It really did not take all that long to run and it was much easier with 8.
