You berserker needs hate building skills phoenix, like (non spell) hexes that will make a berserker favor to attack target foe over other creatures when he frenzy's.
Also berserkers are not connected to nature, barbarians are.
Berserker use drugs and alcohol to fly into a frenzy, while barbarians use willpower and meditation to focus their anger into a rage.
One of them is a thug the other is a wanderer and hermit, lore wise they are quite different, their combat style is quite similar; but while berserkers are all offense, barbarians have defensive rages as well.

When we talk about celtic Berserkers (what we do here part wise), then these ones ARE connected to the Nature, because they draw their brutal powers from the slayed Animals and their pelts they wear as Clothes and Armor.
You saying, their Power comes from Drugs and Alcohol made me incredible LOL, Berserkers are no Dwarves XD
Also Barbarians are kind of a pre state of Berserkers. If we look at Professions in kind of an Evolution System, than its absolutely clear and obvious, that Berserkers evolve out of Barbarians, because the step from a Barbarian to a Berserker is not big, both share similar Gameplay.
Warrior > Barbarian > Berserker
Core > Disciple > Master
Its obvious like
Knight > Crusader > Paladin
Lore wise ? LOL, you talk about them, as if they would be still implemented Professions XD We can't talk about them lore wise, because we have no imagination about it, how the Berserker would be finally, if Anet thinks on, to implement them to GW2 and how they think, a Berserker should work in the game and on which "lore" they should be based on. Anything else yet is only comparing with lores of other existing Offline/Online Games, which have Berserkers.
I for myself must admit, that my first thought on this thread was, when I saw it, that the OP sure got his thought about celtic Berserkers from the game FFX-2
You know, Pelts, Claws, celtic Look and so ^^, anyone who played that game will automatically think on it *g*

Actually I was talking about RL viking berserkers, they where normal soldiers given alcoholic concoctions to fire them up before combat, reducing their chance of survival but augmenting their strength and courage.
Where did you get the idea of some male Cruella Deville that draws strength from wearing furs? I ain't never heard of that...
Also I talk about them lore wise as their roles in common Fantasy lingo and fiction(so basically D&D, Books and movies)
Yes, I know that's not a solid foundation, as it is per definition made up.
Yet I like the definition those offer, it offers variation of the same archetype to different backgrounds.
What that lacks is the Feral, which is the Indian version, that becomes possessed by their guardian spirit/animal, to much of the same ends as berserkers or barbarians.
