Guild Cape Problem, Plz help!

Okay, well, my guild (Rejects on Parade) paid 1000 gold among us to get a guild cape, yet the cape has yet to show up, but the gold is gone, what do I do? I want either the cape or the gold back! Plz Help!

Hmmm did any of your guild mates steal the gold? Sorry I have no insights to this issue. However I do understand the frustration when no one replies to your topic and/or posts. Hang in there bud

Did you bug it? I'm sorry, but I don't think there's much that you can do.
Are you sure that you didn't press cancel halfway? The last time I created a guild was in the Jan BWE, so I don't remember the process (which probably has changed, anyways).
The thing is, it IS only beta, and there will be a wipe before release anyways.. I do understand that it's frustrating.. but the readers of this forum would need much more detail in exactly what happened to even hope to help you.
Again, the best thing I can think of is to report it in the bugs thread. However, please please add more detail than "My gold is gone and I don't have a cape!" If it's possible, have the person who went through the process post, and have him/her describe exactly what he/she did.. and during what part of the process it went wrong.

EH?! Really there's going to be a complete wipe at release?!?! I thought that there wouldn't be a wipe, but you could keep all your characters and the name of your character

The ONLY thing you'll keep after the wipe is the names of your characters. I'm not sure if you were there in Jan BWE when they had the wipe.. but it'll be like that. There will be placeholders for your names. That's it.
It makes sense, if you think about it. Besides, pre-order people get to start early. Isn't that enough of a treat?

The way I understood it, the characters would be wiped, but the names associated with pre-order accounts would be left alone, basically starting over at square one. Folks like me, who got on with a friend pass, will be purged completely, I'm not even sure if my account (name and address) will survive the purge. (Not that that's a big deal, it's not like it'll be a pain in the patuckus to start over.)

Lovitar is right, it's more of a reset than a wipe. I've also heard that guilds won't be wiped at release, possibly to help in the stealing of famous guild names.

Gaile was reassuring the interviewer that the problem of saving guilds was being taken care of but they as the individual characters would be reset ot starting levels for fairness
as for the secondary professions (and primary as well so far) you can do them over for the experience in a few seconds
example of that in red askalon in the old askalon explorable area just past the breech there is a ranger who offered me a quest to get the stalker companion by my side
i accepted it went a short distance away from him and checked the quest log
result was an update to go back and collect my reward which was a few hundred exp
i anticipate no problems as Gaile did say skills kept
just a matter of using what we have to run up a few levels (i will go up 6-7) before the academy

My team did the same - register guild ( 100g ) - gather gold ( 1000g ) - give it to me. Then i saw my gold counter in the inventory show i have "05" gold. It couldn't handle the 4 digits. But nevertheless i could buy my team a cape.
The cape was shown in combat and outposts/towns.
Only once at Yak's bend we were all capeless - but on continueing the quest it showed up again.
So i think you encountered a bug - or in other words you have an invisible cape...showing up next BWE, when the bug is gone.

Remember that silver square to the left of your gold count? Well, think of it as your "platinum" count.. with "platinum" being 1000 gold. So, if you have 2345 gold, it'll show up as 2 right next to the silver box-shaped thing, and then 234 next to the gold icon.
Btw, I'm assuming that it's platinum.. couldn't think of anything else silver that overrides gold. It's too early in the morning for me.
As for the bug.. this is pure hypothesis.. but at one point during the BWE, there was some sort of a glitch with the guild system. Everyone's guild disappeared (at least, everyone in my district in LA) -- couldn't talk on guild channel, no guild registered, no capes, etc. I'm not sure if this was gamewide, but Gaile was standing in LA telling everyone not to worry.
And of course, after a few minutes, they fixed the problem..

many people have had 2nd thoughts about changing capes anyway and that 1000 gold at the start is a big ticket item
i think the capes will probably go along with the items

Thanks for all the replies... I don't think the money was platinum though... It was just gold: 6 as I recall... hopefully it was just a bug though... I really really don't want to have to waste frickin' 1000 gold... I have a hard time keeping that much.

I thought the same thing the first time I went to buy the cape for my guild.
It went platnium. 1k 5g. I did not get the cap the first time I bought it. But it did not take my money either. I did get it the second time though. And your right 1k gold is hard to come by in pre-sear (newbie mode).

they might want to keep the capes and halls as a visual incentive for newcomers or they might say dont flaunt what you have and keep the cape pattern reserved but make you pay for it again
