Doesn't anybody find it VERY annoying that ignore doesn't work like it does in other games?

I think the ignore feature should filter out EVERYTHING said and done by that player (and maybe even their alts ), and not just block whispers. I can barely see whispers as it is

I want ignore to ignore anything and everything done by the owner of the character I ignore.

Heck, I would be even happier if it didn't even draw their avatar on my screen

Currently if you ignore someone, that person takes up a spot that could otherwise be used for a friend on your friend's list (you have a total of 25 spots, allocated as you wish).

What this means is that I've wound up unignoring people that really deserve to be permanently ignored. I simply don't want to lose the spot for a friend due to a jackass, especially since the ignore command is so ineffective to start with.

As a side note, having a larger friend's list would be nice also.

I was going to post the same topic, but I figured someone had the same idea.
Anyway, I think the best reason for blocking all the ignored chat is for those people who spam the channels with their item to sell, using caps, symbols, and whatnot. Someone is thinking, just close the trade channels then. But the classic counter, I DO shop and buy good deals. There should be seperate lists for ignored and friends. That might help solve the 25 limit.

UK, or is it? *confused*

there should be a good emote for it to actually work (like it does on DII, sacred and other games) to tell people to "stfu" as they say online

/ignore [full character name at the time]

It works with pet names, but I'd say they could make it work if they put that on Emotes

I would really like the option to ignore people to be expanded as well. Today some on Ascalon was saying WTB Charr Hides every 2 seconds it seemed, after a few minutes I politely asked him to stop, they he started whispering me with the message over and over. After I ignored him he went on in the normal chat and spamming the message. So I see how this could be useful .

If anybody ever gets a hint as to whether this might be included in a future update...please post here. We'd love to know

They should turn people who are ignored into stick figures, had that in another game I used to play. I don't play a lot anymore.

But then again, people will start ignoring others just becouse it's funny to look at the stick figures

Agreed and while your at it, add a filter to the chat system. I generally don't care to see WTBs flying all over the place.

I agree Alot, as my "racist filter" post, isnt really for a filter for the such, just wanted to get some things off my chest... It bothered me when i tried to ignore someone, and still heard everything they said ^.^

It's not like they have to be whispering you much, its normaly the peopel spamming crap that i want to ignore... maybe that's why my ignore list is empty, even tho i want to "ignore" quite a few people?

I opened a bug report saying that I considered ignore broken since it doesn't actually ignore the person.

the bug report was deleted w/o comment...

Remove them completely from my game.. Remove their alts.. There's a reason why I blocked them in the first place!..

Signed. And have friends and ignored stored locally if it's such a burden to have a list bigger than 25. It won't kill me to give up 5 megs of hard drive space to keep track of people I love and love to hate.

I'd like to suggest implementing this. A right-click on a name in chat could also bring up a popup with the options 'Add person to friends/ignored list.', which you then select with a left-click.
