Can ME/MO solo FOW???

i know that a ME/MO can solo UW but i want to know if there is a build to try solo FOW......

I've tried, but your damage output cannot easily take down monk groups (IW loses to multi-SS). You can probably kill some minor groups, however.

I'll test some other things.

Ok rapid update :

Taking my build for UW, swapping in vigorous spirit for power drain, I could kill some stuff. Shadow eles kind hurt though... burning leaves you with 3 regen and you don't have the necro's insidious parasite regen or monk high healing. More notes when I get time

I tried some time ago to go into FoW and was raped by the mesmer+eles group, using vigorous spirit. Due to this thread I tried again yesterday and after 3 tries, to my surprise, I could kill that group. I was able to kill that group with mesmer 3 out of 4 tries, but it reminds me to coldfires killing, involves some disgusting running aimlessly around.

The group with 1 monk and the 2nd group with 2 beasts and 2 monks r easy, though slow (damn healing signet). To kill the group with mesmer must cast prot, breeze and vigorous and get into their aggro area. U r removed vigorous and recast it again. Then u move stupidly away from them until both eles (if there r more, more u'll have to wait) cast their firestorms. Then u run to mesmer activating SV and IW and start the killing. If eles r able to cast more storms just run away from them. Twice eles were able to cast storm just at the beginning, and the killing was smooth. But once they could cast it again and I had to run a lot. But I was quite happy to see the healing was enough as long as u avoid fire storms.

Then I failed miserably against show rangers and abyssals, they managed to interrupt my prot spirit amazingly often, but I guess that may be avoided (I'll waste a few more entries to check that).

Abyssals are a critical problem to an IW soloing setup, because your damage is already rather low from recasting spells (and hence not attacking) and constant interrupts from knockdown don't help either.

Versus monks, use SV + shadow warriors hitting you to drain their energy, then hack away. You can take down 1 monk in the time SV is up, usually. Driftwood would probably be simple, so long as you managed to get there.

The skeletal mobs would likely rip you into pieces, 2x shatter enchants, energy draining, move reduction, interrupts... ugh.

But using SV should avoid abyssals to use their knockdown thingies, even using berserker stance. At least that's my hope (but it seems I did it horribly).

About skeletal, yeah, I wouldn't think about defeating those in a millions years. Only after coming back from partying being drunk I would be confident enuf about my superiority there. :P

Abyssals seem to have the rather uncanny factor of inherent knockdown in their attacks. Berserker just makes them hit faster, it doesn't give them a knockdown capability

Also, you'd need to be careful of dual-shots from the shadow rangers... not much of a threat, but if you get spiked at a bad time thats 20 damage headed your way fast. Although abyssals give a deep wound, so thats less to worry about...

After a few more tries I was able to do the group with 2 eles + mesmer regularly. Proceeded to Abyssals and the only prob I saw there is to time your castings like u do on aatxes, so u r not hit while u r at it. Rangers seemed quite easy.
The big group with 2 eles + mesmer + 2 walking eles involves such mad running and takes so much time that I don't think the FoW run is profitable on solo, but I admit it's fun.
Shadow warriors take much more time than aatxes, and that's a pain. :P

I've gotten 2 shards from 3 runs... overall as mortaja says, it's not worth it. Maybe chapter 2 will give some more mesmer skills... but chances are the cool ones will be give to the necros (give spiteful spirit back you necrotic aberrations!)

lol, I think mesmers lost that war. And in any case empathy would be given to necros instead of bringing back which is ours by natural rights.
