Game Age Value for Money
dwarfslayer
Just A quick message to the Guild Wars Devs
Having just gone over the 1,000 hours of game play over the last 9 month. I believe Guild wars has to be one of the most value for money game's around.
Having taken a month out of the game I have come back and started on my 3rd Character. I am still enjoying it as much the third time round as I did the first.
I will put up a screen shot of my age /AGE
So who else is in the old members club 1,000 hours or older
Screenies only please
P.S I did try a search to see if its been covered before but search system isnt as good since it changed.

PC Gamer gave Guild Wars the best value of 2005. I don't have 1000 hours yet, but I expect I will soon reach it.

5 cents per hour, not bad.

There are people in this forum with nearly 2000 hours. Check the screenshot section.

I'm over 1,000 hours, but I'm at work so I can't post a screenshot.
And I'm only on my 2nd character.
Definitely the best value for the buck of any game I've ever played.

is there some sort of in game meter that shows the exact # of hours that you are in the game. And if it is a benefit to have more hours is that why you see inactive ppls characters standing around in most cities. pls some one shed some light on this.
jimmy_logic
Is this something along the lines that more is better? I personally couldn't care less, but the true measure is how many months and if your still playing is what matters not the number of hours played.

Also /deaths shows the number of times you have died
I am approching 1000 hours, 960 ish infact.
Been playing the game since the begining of July but I have to say that I am coming to the end of my Guildwars playing days. It will soon be time to Hang up my sword and Axe. Once Factions comes out I will shake the dust off my armour and sharpen my sword ready to face the new land

I'm on 1200 hours now, but there's a difference between me and the people that have 3000 hours.
I've actually played 1200 hours, they've probably played about the same amount of time, +1800 hours of afk'ness, and those 1800 hours are just a waste of money, since having a computer on for 1800 hours isn't cheap

I have to say that GW has sort of lost it's luster. Maybe it's just me and the way I like to play but I hate having to rely on luck to get a good group. I would infinitely prefer to be able to solo most of the game. I've wasted more of the only 900 or so hours I've played trudging around with incompetent people only to have to go back and do the same thing again with a more competent group. I'm hoping that with new areas to explore and new quest and character professions that I'll have more to do.

480 hours over 5 months. I'm at work so I can't post a screen shot. Maybe 30 of those hours don't count. I have forgotten to log out before leaving for work a couple times. I also let my best friend make a character on my account, the effort to get her addicted worked. She and her husband just had to go buy the game.

I have been afk for maybe 5% of the total time, but not so much that it would considerably reduce the amount I have played on all my accounts.

i don't play that much usualy a couple of hours before dinner when i have time.
560 hours since april 27, def a excellent deal

Umm...1167 hours over 5 months according to the /age command...with certainly no AFK time accumulated over 10 hours.
So 7 hours and 47 minutes of play every day for 5 months solid.
I have a crippling video game addiction for which I need immediate professional help.

I took a month off (or so), so my overall is 848 h. 23 m. over the last nine months. So I'm looking at about $0.06/h, USD

As I thourght
Usually a game last's 20 to 50 hours. I think one of the Final fantasy games boasted 90hrs game play. Couldnt see many people playing Quake online for silly amounts of hours.
But post was started mainly to say thanks for producing such an adictive game. Ive been pissed off with it Didnt agree with some changes, loved the halloween event, Missed the new year event Fell asleep at keyboard, Got pissed at keyboard and even made love at the keyboard :-)
And now I can do it all again with Factions I hope.

I dont have a screenshot atm as Im about to head off to work. However, I should definately think that Guild Wars value is definately up there, definately unique. In fact, I think the only 2 games I have ever seen that come close would be the original Half Life (only because it was required for Counter-Strike, and Im not a CS player, but seeing as its the most widely played game by far in PC gaming history...it sort of goes without saying) and Enemy Territory, which I have poured hundreds/thousands of hours into and it's free. (Very hard to compete in the value arena with a game thats free).
