I've just been running around killing stuff to get my lizard to 15, but now it's going to get slower. Also, how exactly does pet xp work? They get XP independent of master, per their level? How does XP work with dead pets? XP as long as they are on compass?
For now I'm just playing in the arenas to level it, and obligatorily getting called a noob. Of course I don't give a rat's ass.
I guess I could try trapping trolls but that may not really work without the expertise evasion skills.

What's a Fast Way to Level a Pet as a W/R?

the easiest way to get a lvl 20 pet is to either cap a spider from UW since they are already lvl 20 and take only about 45min to an hour if you go with a good group I believe. Either that or you can cap a lvl 15 Elder Wolf out in the shiverpeaks. If you really want to learn more about pets and lvling, this should be your bible:

As a warrior with 15/16 strength, a lot of axe, and a good bit of wilderness survival you can solo desert minotaurs and griffins with a level 15+ pet. It's what I do once my W/R's pet hits that stage.
Use Dolyak Signet and Troll Unguent to keep yourself alive. Use Eviserate, Executioner's Strike, and Penetrating Blow to kill things; use Cyclone Axe to refill your adrenaline. Bonetti's Defense can be used to refill your energy and protect your Troll Unguent's cast from Devourers.
Just be aware that your pet's death will drain your energy pool, and also make certain your Dolyak Signet will not wear off while your skills are blacked out from the pet's death.
As the guide above says, your pet will gain experience while dead regardless of the distance away you are from its corpse. Since by level 15 your pet will have already gained its last evolution, you needn't worry about messing it up anymore.

Meh, I screwed up and made it Playful. Then I went to Call of Haste and Call of Protection and got it to Elder.
Pyrrhic victory.
