there was another post about this for which is better in general, but as i hate it when people post sub-topics in my threads, i decided to make a new thread =/
so yea, running dialup here, can TS or VENT work well for GvG?
whats better on dialup: TS or VENT

I've heard that TS works better from the people on my server. You will still have some lag though simply because it's dialup...
Phrozenflame
Hiye, I've used TS on dial up, well yea it can get laggy when all the 16 players are in the rader, just tell your guildmates to not start chatting about a movie they saw last night, stick to the game talk only to minimise lag.

does sanyone know the best settings for setting up TS for dialup?

TS is the way to go...trust me i made ts, i dismantled vent..i know what both do...also depends on the server and the routing though..vent has more probs with routing
Special K
As he said, vent has more routing problems, but as far as bandwith goes, vent does use a lower portion. TS works ok on dial-up only if yuo use some of the lesser server codecs. Vent works decently on almost any of them. But as far as I'm concerned, the best thing to use on dial-up is the telephone.
Not only will it lag out your game, but using codecs suitable to your connection will make it sound like crap. My advice to you would be to get broadband. I know, you're probably living with your parents and don't have a job. But nowadays that is no excuse. You can purchase high speed internet returning old coke bottles.

Which one has better sound quality? :x
Caleb
On broadband I think Ventrilo has better sound quality hands down.
For the OP I agree that TS set to minimum codecs would work best for your dialup.
