Just a quick Ranger question.

If I use Read the Wind, is that considered as a stance? or just preparation?
If I use a bow that gives +% damage while in stance...
Red teh Wind would give me that damage boost???
and Also, I just want plain damage from penetrating shots and power shots.
no trapping no poisoning....too much work for me....just wanna shoot arrows...that's my style.
so What bow gives plain good arrow damage?
I'm reading and I see horn bows give additional penetrating effect that any other bows dont give.
and i see that if I use fav. winds and read the wind, i'm best off with flat bow in terms of range and fire rate.
gonna put vampiric prefix on one of those bows, please help me on choosing a plain damage bow.
ps. what is eternal bow quivalent to? flat?

Read the Wind is a preparation, so you would not gain that damage boost.
As for bows, it really all depends. No one class of bow deals more damage than the others, since all of them have the same max damage values (except for the 10% armor piercing on the Horn Bow). The only real factors to think about are range, firing rate, and arrow flight time. With "Read the Wind" turned on, flight time isn't as much a concern anymore, so (I *think*) flabow is your best option.
Usually, though, some players recommend that you keep a couple bows in your inventory and use the F1/F2/F3/etc. keys to switch between them. Flatbow for long range, horn bow or short bow for close range, that sort of thing.

Red teh Wind would give me that damage boost??? You will get the damage boost from Read the Wind, and then if you also use a stance, you will get the damage boost from being in that stance while using that bow.

ok so one thing for sure,
read the wind does not provide the bow's damage boost for while in stance.
I might have to use flurry, tiger's fury or frenzy huh...
and so horn bow does have 10% armor penetration even tho
it is not stated?? it's the only bow that has the mod I guess?
that's what I heard, even tho it doesn't say only horn bow has that mod.
eternal bow is what type of bow?

I think eternal is a longbow with the fancy skin but I could be wrong. I normally use Stormbows because I like the look and because they synch up with Barrage well.

Eternal bow is a composite bow.

2.7 secs firing rate for horn bow...
nvm....i wouldn't pick horn even if it had 10% penetrating mod.
that's just way too damn slow.
Flat bow it is for me now~

that's what I heard, even tho it doesn't say only horn bow has that mod. As I understand, all the bows with the same stats as the horn bow will have that 10% A.P.

Flatbow is probably all around best to use, if you're packing skills like "Read the Wind" or "Favourable Winds" which cut down on an arrow's flight time. If you're not using those skills, the flatbow becomes very innacurate at long range (that is, by the time your arrow gets to where it's going, the enemy isn't there anymore). So if you are sticking with RtW, I do recommend it for your long range bow.
Similarly, if you use a horn bow or any other slow-firing bow, a skill like "Tiger's Fury" will offset the low firing rate. The trick in a weapon-based build is to find skills that maximise the strengths, and/or minimise the weaknesses, of your weapon attacks

Hornbows have only one use imo... and that would be for Barrage spamming builds where the refire rate doesn't matter
