The question:
Is it just me or is guild wars getting a bit of a lag spike these pst few weeks?
My story:
It all started off at "The Scar" when i experienced the most terrible lag i ever experienced ever. Skills were frozen, walking from point A to point B would mean walking from point A-b then A all of a sudden. I was doing the warrior path when this happened with many other random people who needed the skill. 2 others were lagging too, while the others were fine. Soon after a while of doing nothing, my guild wars crashed and the connection to guild wars was lost. I checked my internet and everything was fine. Tried Guild wars again, nothing. A few minutes later it worked but lagged a bit. I tryed to decrease the quality of guild wars but the same thing happened.
Today, i was in UW soloing, took about an hour to clear the first part of the area. While facing 3 aatxes urging to get to the smites first time soloing, guess what? U guessed right! LAG! I later lost and europe just got the favor so now i have to wait another period of time to revisit that area.
Anyways, does anyone else experience this lag spike or is it just me? oh and btw, this never happened to me before ever and iv played gw on the same computer, same network since the release of it!!!

Yes, there are lag spikes and sure are annoying when you're in PvP. There are couple of threads about it already, search for them and you'll get more info.

If anyone knows about lag spikes it's me. I have noticed that it seems to be worse in the last few weeks as well, and who knows why?
For example, yesterday I went to the Fissure of Woe. It isn't my first time, I've been there about 50 times, but it honestly took me 3 minutes to load. My teammates were cool about it, even though they thought I was a total noob.
It's all my computer though. I play on 2 different computers, and 1 is like 100x faster than the other, so I'm guessing it might be your computer as well.

I dont know about that i have an alienware and when im doing my desert runs i get really REALLY bad lags like i mean to the point where moving from point A-B
i go from A-b-A-C its nuts i jump so much it drives me nutty so i dont know what to do and it all seems to have gotten especially bad this week so i have stopped runs for this week.
For me it seems to be cyclical one week i get bad lag or rather one day from that week then im pretty much good for a while

You never know what is being tweaked server side by Anet for the upcoming event or whatnot.
Also, as with other cases, it seems most of you guys are playing on the American server?

yes extreme lag. yes american server. yes mainly within past 3 or so weeks. it seems to have started out after the factions pvp event weekend. but some of the things that have happened are:
1.taking extremely to long to load (twice its takn me 10 min to load droks)
2.not showing health status on pve npcs (git at least one everytime i go out into the whateva u wanan call it)
3. adrenaline bug happening more than it should.
4. the same thing with the jumping of characters.
5. on the warcamp to citedel run when u first leave warcamp and go around that corner i ALWAYS lag for about 2 minutes there.
6. the error 404 or whateva coming up like twice a day. (it logs u out then says it)
7. the games crashed on me entirely like twice as in the whole thing closes out.
the only thing with this being said is the only thing my comp has other than the basics like microsoft word is gw and the internet.
im also running on a 128mb video card and 1gig of ram.
it also hurts the hoh reallly badly because i see it a lot and it happens a lot with ppl crashing in the middle of it even when there holding halls which is really bad.
my theory is that when they introduced factions pvp weekend that they got into a hurry and didn't debug the programming entirely leaving the us servers with these bugs.
what do u guys think?

I have NEVER EVER lagged, but the past few weeks have been horrible.I'am getting the same effects that all of you above are.Glad to hear its not only me experiencing this crap,thought my PC was gettin ready to fry

Same here, i have never lagged before but the last couple of weeks it has been really bad, been kicked out with code 404 as well. I play on the european server. Suppose anet are getting servers upgraded for factions or something.

yeah, it all started when we got the sneak peak of factions. my guess is that it will go away once you get factions. also if you are having troubles with lag in towns, than do what i do. Go to the last district or go the international districts. less people in the same town = less lag

I've been noticing a lot more lag too, lately, which is kind of unusual since this game usually runs marvelously. Could be that they are doing something after all, could be server strain... who knows?

I have a question in regards to adrenaline bug. Is that where u cant see adfrenaline build up but it has built up so u can use the skill, just not see that you can?
If that is the bug i have gotten that 12 times in last 15 times online it is starting to drive me buggers...!!!...!!! anyways if it is just with american districts should i go to european and wait this out?

If that is the bug i have gotten that 12 times in last 15 times online it is starting to drive me buggers...!!!...!!! anyways if it is just with american districts should i go to european and wait this out?

the lag u got at the scar was the exact same thing that happened to me at THK...i was literally useless for 15 minutes cuz i was running forward then teleporting back to my original spot. 5 of my skills were on eternal "in use" phase. it looked like my team was getting along fine tho. i eventually got "invalid target" signs for my skills and they stopped flashing and i could move...quite annoying tho...

I normally have no lag and over 60 FPS, and that hasn't changed much, except I have been noticing small spots where my character with move very slowly then jump 15 away, though nothing large.

Anywho, I do get lag once and awhile when exiting a town or encountering the 1st enemy I see. But after that, the game runs smoothly. I call for server matinence before Factions comes out so that we won't expierence this lag. (the only server matinence I seen was when the game came out, a few months after...that was it).
