Well after about 2 weeks of playing the game I've noticed a few features (or lack there of) about GW that I really find disturbing. Don't get me wrong..the game is great and I know it's fairly new (with changes being made), but I couldn't help but notice a few things.
1) If you're in a group and doing a mission and a member goes LD (linkdead), they can't get back in the group unless you abort and start over?
2) The chat system seems really primitive. Between spam and finding an easy way to communicate, I end up turning everything off and just saying "screw" socializing.
3) Pets - There's pretty much follow and attack. Not much to them in terms of commanding (like in eq..sorry to compare).
4) Movement - There appears to be no jumping, crouching, swimming, running etc? Everything is just "jog".
5) All classes have the same base HP?
6) Only race is human?
While none of these are deal breakers, I think it would add a wonderful element to the game if some of this were implemented. Can anyone comment on these concerns. Are any of them being addressed? Am I incorrect in my findings?
Gameplay Concerns - Am I right?

I do agree that it could get worked on.

Sums it up for me thanks. For me I'd love to see items 1 & 2 get changed (and 6 if I could be picky). The rest is just a wishlist.

Yes, it seems to me that new races will be pretty much a sure thing in the future expansion packs, or at least that's what GW Devs are telling us at the moment

I agree with most of that as well.
With not being able to move around easily, I can see how this was intended, but sometimes I feel like I should be able to walk off a two foot drop than having to go around, but otherwise I'm fine with that.
And with eveyone having the same amount of HP, that is also true, but not all classes have the same amount of Armor. Which still makes casters more prone to damage in their cloth clothing and warriors can stay resilient in their platemail.

Good points Melanko.
I think GW has an incredible base to work with. The "key" imo isn't where they are now, but where they take the game with future patches, new expansions, skills, spells, classes etc. I'd like to see what kind of a future it has.
I feel this game has tremendous potential. What I don't see though is why the devs would keep adding free content? I mean how's that work? After we all buy copies of the game, they're just giving us more stuff for free since we already bought it. Where's the profit come in down the line? I really like GW a lot, but down the line I'd love to see more added. I just worry what incentive the developers have to do it.

they are showing us how easy it is to put a nice little something extra in for us now and then.
shows they are not stingy and makes people go
*wow look what they added and they didnt have to*
makes you feel all warm and fuzzy about shelling out 50 for the next chapter
be generous now and profit from it later
good business
edit
their entire business model (and paychecks) depends on a steady cash flow from selling new content
that is the best incentive to produce a lot of good material for us

What I really would like to see is smarter hench men, I can't tell you how many times the party has gotten killed and the back up hench healer has just sat there with our corpse at her feet and didn't res anyone. The worest part about that is that there was no mobs around.

Yep, I agree with everyone of your points. Fantastic game tho^ and at least they do seem to make changes (like changing the look of dye remover adn adding expert salvage kits to old ascalon so people can't exploit). Hopefully they will take some of these things into consideration.

The ability to NOT have proper movement, is probably a godsend to 56K users. By only allowing a form of 2D movement (across the surface), it will probably be easier for em.
Although running, or increase in speed, should probably be added.

not to mention trying to get around a corner or over a bridge, and having your char "bounce around" and get suck.. or not being able to move/stop EXACTLY when you want to without those stupid pauses.
