Hi all

My char is currently level 10, a pyromancer E/Mo with all pyro EL 30 armor plus the Flames Eye w/ fire magic +1.

2 questions:
I am using a flame artifact in my inventory. It has energy +6 requiring 5 fire magic & halves skill recharges of spells (chance: 10%). Now, I have 6 in fire magic on my attributes list colored in blue instead of white because of the flames eye she's wearing.
My question: Why does the flame artifact have a red circle with a line through it when it is equiped in my inventory? I meet the 5 fire magic requirements.

My next question:
On my hero list under attributes, I currently just have points in Fire, Energy & Healing. When I mouse over each one, the attributes with no points in them tells you there is no inherent effect of course. But, for fire & healing which there are points in, also says the same thing, "no inherent effect". Is this because you need a certain number of points in them? Now, energy is the only one that says raising this makes the skills in this better.
Current attribute points I have is Fire 6, Energy 6, Healing prayers 2 if this helps.
My question: Is having just 6 in fire not really helping in effects yet? The same question for healing prayers?

Sorry for the long post but I needed to give the most info I could for an answer TIA

It has been disabled. It's more-than-likely you have armed the flame artifact while you're already equiped with a two-handed weapon (e.g. a staff). The flame artifact is an off hand item and will come into play if you are using a single handed weapon such as a wand, rod, etc.

In your inventory window, you can switch on additional weapon set. Therefore you can have:

Weapon Set 1: Fire Staff
Weapon Set 2: Fire Wand + Flame Artifact.
etc.

And switch between your weapon sets using the F1, F2, F3, F4 keys.

Only thing i can think of is that you are using a staff for a weapon and that takes both hands... meaning you cant use that offhand artifact. Just 6 isnt much... yet. For your level its fine, but compared to having say 13 in fire... thats something else. Take it easy, your skills improve with your attribute points. By the time you hit 20, and do the 2 additional +15 attribute quests, you will have more than enough points. The inherent effect, well, it says that on all mine too. Dont read into it. Just know, the more you put into your skill, ie fire, the better it is.

6/6 for fire and energy isn't uncommon at your lvl...its fine. I'd even use your next lvl to increase healing instead of one of those two. (get healing to the point where heal party gives 42 [when you get heal party if you havent], then dont increase it for while)

Then after that turn fire magic up little by little. By the end you'll have 13-16 fire magic, ~10 storage, and the rest in healing.

"No inherent effect" means it doesn't do anything other than increase your skills power. Most attributes say this. The only Elementalist attribute that doesn't is Energy Storage, because storage gives you energy per lvl.

Thnx alot guys for all your replies. You are right, I'm using a fire staff so that explains that. Glad I have the forum to explain things to us newbies
