what's a good UW build
PrismOfRedLight
I currently have a W/R and I want to be effective at UW before I start so thatd be cool if someone could help me out.
Me NoFat
While I am not going to tell you the skills you need but I will start you out on making your own. In UW you are the tank and that is it.
Tank 1st
Damage 2nd
Make sure you can withstand damage without too much healing. Your blocking and aggro ability should also be top notch IMO.
With that said you still want to do some damage because it is not very much fun getting punched without being able to hit back

THX Its nice knowing the build exactly but its even more fun to experiment yourself with a little info, gives me something to think about and try and thanks again.

Is it possible to solo the UW as a W/? I'd be interested to get some ideas if anyone has ever tryed this.
Cheers

Argh, beat me to it caged.
Just be warned that the build takes an extreme amount of character control, and there are not many warriors who can pull it off with ease (most of them are in our guild

I love the warrior forum.
Anyway, even when grouping I pretty much always just use warrior skills like I always do. Aatxe as anyone knows hit for a lot of damage so you'll want to either have a high AL or evasion stances. If you're planning on actually clearing out the entire place I would recommend having a higer armour for against the Charged Darkness. I believe they're a level 26 enemy that uses Air Magic which really hurts even as a warrior; almost to the point of carrying an extra weapon with +7 vs. elemental and a suit of Dragon/Wvyern/Plate armour. Not to mention the Terrorweb Dryders can be a pain with their Meteor Showers, so Dolyak Signet is always a fine choice provided your group is smart enough to let you take aggro so the 75% reduction in speed doesn't hinder you in some form.
IMO, there isn't much reason to have a very high weapon attribute as opposed to tactics or strength. Aatxe have Riposte and Deadly Riposte blocking your attacks every so often. Not to mention they're level 29 so you don't hit for very much anyway. Smite Crawlers have Shield of Judgement which they'll cast once they're missing about 25% of their health bar. Mindblade Specters cast Clumsiness, and you'll always encounter large groups of them. Charged Darkness have Glimmering Mark, blinding you during those encounters. Coldfire Night have Warm Against Harm, Stalking Night; Ward Against Melee. The Dead Thresher use Faintheartedness, slowing your attack to a crawl. Obsidian Behemoths set a LOT of traps so it's best to kill them from a range then let the traps go off by themselves.
So basically you're not left with a whole lot of enemies that you wouldn't be better off to just stand there and take the hits while the rest of the party does the work. Probably the reason why I personally don't like to play warrior in UW that much (except when soloing

I tank with a w/n build. use Dolyak, enfeebling blood, bonnettis, ViM and also use the nolani fire wand to get the adrenaline. Its easy to figure out the stats, but better you first
. another stance, and whatever else is your preference

Spenser_For_Hire
i like W/Me, mesmer has some stances that really bring wars + defense skills to the brink of unfairness

Do you mean pulling off the W/R build, or solo-ing UW?
