Is it illegal to exchange real life currency for in game currency?
Note: I'm not doing this, or plan to do this. I'm just wondering if it's illegal or not.

Hmmm, farm griffons/hydras/UW/FoW for +/- 10K per hour, 100 hours needed to hit the magical 1000K mark. Not including rares of course. Or, at last check, spend about $55.00 on ebay to hit that same 1000K mark. I know for me that I make a lot more than 55 bucks in 100 hours. I'm not condoning it, but it seems eveytime you turn around Anet, in their infinite wisdom , has made it even harder to earn a decent amount of gold. They want to be able to squat in Marhans Grotto and brag that they have a perfect Chaos axe, Fellblade, and FoW armor. Farming 100's of hours isn't desirable to many. Ebay makes it easy. If Anet actually did ban anyone for these practices, I suspect the high end sale forum would be a lot less utilized. |
