Petition to fix the Ascalon maps in Random Arenas

Too many polynomials.
Honest to God, I just about lag out every time I am on those maps.

Please, for the love of Dwayna, Melandru, Balthazar, Grenth, Lyssa, and all the good dwarves of the Stone Summit ( ), either take them out or reduce their background activity (or find some way to drastically reduce the lag in them).
These are the only maps I have a problem with, and I have been in teams where other people feel the lag as well.

er.... What do polynomials have to do with it?

More polynomials = more lag

trust me, I used to make maps for Rune: Halls of Valhalla (not very good ones, admittedly). The more complex something is, the more polynomials there are, the more laggy it is.

Polynomials = ax^n + bx^(n-1) + .... + px^2 + qx + r. =p

Is this the new one in the zaishen challenge, or the old one right after the searing? Although I can't say I've ever had a problem with either, but I guess I could be wrong.

The word you're looking for is polygons.

And yes, infinitely seconded. The obelisk one doesn't hurt at all, but the one with the tar pit in the middle? I always lose before my computer can render three frames. And it's just THAT MAP. Please do something.

Turn off reflections or get a better graphics card then. That is ascalon arena.

Don't tell people to get new graphics cards. Thats just stupid. If they could they would. I also don't even have reflections turned on in pvp.

Mine does the exact same thing on this map and this is the only one. Everyone is already fighting by the time I load. Its crazy.

Hi I have everything turned off/low as far as it goes. I get decent performance in the rest of the game (even including Burial Mounds back in the day when it was six teams) but that Ascalon arena utterly kills me, and I have no idea why.
