Under the bridge

Something I've been noticing a lot lately, and not just me but others in my guild.

Sometimes when you start across a bridge, you suddenly find yourself under the bridge and the only way out is to backtrack while virtually blind.

What are you complaining about? That doesn't happen to you in real life?

Ive had that happen where I simply find myself under the bridge (espically in maguuma). Then I have to find my way back, fighting everything alone, till I find my group/henchies again.

I've had that too, most commonly when running for infuse in Iron Mines. It has only happened to me at bridges where there is land you can walk on underneath. Can be annoying, once I got stuck and there were avicaras attacking me from above

All the time.

There have been some instances with my warrior where I've been able to melee kill enemies far below the bridge I'm on. I wonder if it works pvp....

Happened to me in PvP this morning. I feel I was lucky since I ran under all the ranger traps on top of the bridge without setting a single one off. If I was the Ranger I'd be ticked off.

But yeah, GW's z-axis support is notoriously wonky. Warriors hitting someone far above them, people setting off traps set below a bridge while they run over it, etc.

The thing is, GW is to escape real life in a sence.

Just deal with it ^^

Here is something I found out:

If you just keep going forward, MOST of the time, you will fall right back up too the other side of the bridge, sizam.

I got stuck in the staircase in UW you could only see me if I used the /jump emote. We were doing a 3 man run and I was the tank. We quoted that as being the shortest UW run ever. However one guild member was able to lure the ataaxes to me and they killed me, then the monk rebirthed me out. We ended up clearing all the smites eventually too, but its just wierd when it happens.

Happens in pvp aswel, trappers usually trap ontop of the bridge and the people below take the traps.
You can also body block using the bridge, if your ontop, nobody can run under the spot you occupy above, you can use touch skills like blackout from above the monks aswel.

Also had players get stuck in the map around stairs, usually the monks, they run down the stairs then dissapear down into the map, which on many occasions has cost us the game.

Do what I do: open the console and type 'noclip'
