My Guild Wars Rambling!!

Well I have done it all, played since first week of release completed every quest, won HoH, traded in items, and even farmed griffins and want to have a bit of a ramble.

Oh why did they bring out those GREENS!!!! if it is because they want PvP players to have access to perfect mods anet already let them have this without having to spend 100k by using the faction points that they introduced that lets anyone add any perfect mod to their PvP character, well it cant be that so it must be so that the PvE players can have perfect modded items without grinding, well thats all good and all but doesn't that destroy the soul of a rpg game, I myself used to get so excited that a GOLD item just dropped for me it kept me always wanting, which kept me playing. Well ok so they did it, they made greens for the folk that only want to play now and then >.< so why the hell didn't they make SEPARATE SKINS for greens so that it wont affect the beautiful golds that we look forward to?? just like Victos Blade that sword is not available in white/blue/purple/gold skins so it don't affect the x-factor of these.

Ok well now I am thinking about the fact so many more people play PvE compared to PvP just look at how many areas are full in the whole map and all districts compared to that of the PvP islands, aaaand so why is PvE lacking god dam it!! the quests really are very lame its like a 3rd person action game with charter development, really why not just spend a few brain cells making "real" questing us RPG`er love that, it only enhances the game instead of just getting in groups to "kill mobs of enemies" again and again. Look heres a thought if you just want action!! why not have a castle to defend not a pathetic stronghold like thunderhead keeps but a full blown castle that has halls, stair cases, towers etc that is under attack by 500+ very naughty people and you and another 100+ NPC (that many dont have to be active all at once, more can spawn etc to cope with any lag) have to defend it against the enemies that are using siege towers, catapults etc, just like a real battles i.e. "lord of the rings return of the king game but better " make it last hours!!! not just a wall with 1 or 2 mursatt mobs passing through the "wall" every 2 mins or so...AKA thunderhead keep.

Back to the castle thing I WANT TO be able to go into building!!! with different floors etc!!! not just stand outside all day!!! .

Real questing/mission not just kill mob move on kill mob move on, unique skin green items, and buildings with stairs!!!!!

dam oh well, I must just be waiting for oblivion to come out i suppose....PLZ MAKE IT ONLINE

what can i say? you seem to have made controversial points then cunningly pre-apologised for them :P i can see where youre coming from but the point is guild wars is all about dynamic combat and highly skilled teams that work as one well oiled machine (hopefully). But its not all about greens, for example having a 15^50 req 7 chaos is gonna earn you a lot more respect than say a razorstone.

Hi , I know what anet "intended" this game to be but this game attracted a huge RPG player base as its a fantasy game with magic sword, spells etc..and seeing as though PvE is more populated then PvP I think they could of added much more of that RPG deth that so many crave .

Its better if everyone has access to the best weapons.


About Thunderhead and the castle I agree sorta. Some larger scale stuff and just more options in general would be more fun. Factions will have some slightly larger scale stuff. Probably not that big though.

ROFL.. that's what I said when I read your post.

The whole reason they can't have 500+ guys attacking your castle is the lag issue.

They have it in non online games because computers don't lag

Think.. 600+ ppl plus huge castle= so much lag you can't move prob crash your computer if your on dialup.

I know I'm not on dialup but the majority of ppl are.. it would be flipping chaos and might crash their servers..

Anyway.. enough of my ranting.. but don't expect to see 600+ ppl fighting eachother in the next 5 years or so.

I agree about the quests.

They are really boring. Collect this item. Kill this person. Save this person from dieing. So on and so on.

That's why I mainly pvp.. only got one pve char.

I don't even know what would make quests exciting.. meh.. the missions are a bit more exciting.. the storyline is ok..

I play guild wars mainly because of the pvp and the awesome graphics.

You missed the point. In games like WoW, whoever is higher level and has the uber gear, wins. Period. That's not how it works in Guild Wars. I know you aren't suggesting that GW be that way, but selling stuff in LA is in no way similar to the necessity of having uber items like in games like WoW.

Hi, 500 guys was probably wishfull thinking but there are a lot of guys in a full district with no lag.. and not all 500 have to come at once

I would love the fact if we could go in castles...or down in caves. I love to be able to go down or up levels and each level becomes increasingly harder and the further you go down the better weapons and items you can get and so forth.

They give you good weapons so everyone has a level playing field, so that *gasp*

The game is about skill, not the amount of hours you put into it.

Thats what they were going for (read the marketing logo thingy's)

Well then FoW must have major lag issure all the time with the many hundrens of enemies in that map! I have aggroed over 50+ attacking at same time (skeletons vs shadows FoW) with no sign of lag at all, and like I said the 500 dont have to appear at the same time.

I like the 100's of peeps doin some royal battling idea. I honestly thought we might get a taste of this during wintersday when all I heard was grenth vs. dwanya. I kept thinking...about time for a huge battle with hundreds of players. Then I realized that all I got to do was go and stand by either avatar, lame. Someday maybe, everyone must meet a highspeed req and it would last hours, im ready...

i know there talking about 16vs16 (i think thats the numbers) in factions but i would think it would be friken awsome if we got to do 500 vs 500, The choas factor would be awsome in itself!

Arrange a 500-man multi-raid-group raid on WoW and attack either Ironforge or Orgrimmar depending what faction you are.

There's a damn good reason for that, too. Do you know how many resources it takes to render each character in Guild Wars as opposed to a little dude in some RTS? The answer you're looking for, is lots.

It's just not possible with current technology to render 1000 (!) constantly moving high-res character models in real-time. Plus there's the calculations for 1000 simultaneous actions, plus tracking the (likely hundreds of) enchantments, hexes, and conditions simultaneously in action...

Then, you go and throw in connectivity issues...

No. Not gonna happen.
