A monk/necro wears monk's armor. Is he still able to put necro runes on his armor?

And how exactly does it work? Do you put all the runes on the chest or is there a limit of 1 rune for each armor piece?

You can only use Runes from your Primary profession's attributes, and Runes can also only be allocated to one piece of armor per each one, and one for each type. So you could use a Rune of Healing Prayers, Protection Prayers, Divine Favor, Smiting Prayers, and Vigor, but you couldn't use four Healing Prayers and a Vigor for an insane state boost. If you have more than one, the one with the highest bonus superceedes the others (A Major rune will cancel out a Minor, for example.)

Yes and they don't stack...

by the way, you can only wear armour from your primary class... just to clear up any confusion that i doubt you may have had.

I noticed that the runes that give +2 to a skill have a -50 life penalty, and +3 to a skill have a -75 life penalty. My question is, are there runes that give +life that can be used to counter this effect? Also, are there runes that give +energy? I was thinking about doing a build with +3 main skill, +75 health to offset the penalty, and then +energy. But then again, that is only 3 runes and I still have other pieces of armor left to put runes on. What other options are there?

There are 3 'Vigor' runes that give anywhere from 30-50 extra health and elementalist runes give energy.

There's no real way to add to your energy via runes- only by attributes and equipment. Elementalists have the energy storage attribute, so you can use an energy storage rune to get a couple of extra energy- 3-9 energy depending on what level of rune you use. However, I generally wouldn't recommend anything above a minor energy storage rune, as paying 50 health for an additional 3 energy or 75 for 6 both seem like pretty bad deals to me.

Are you kidding? You take the Superior rune for the skills. An Elementalist is useless without Aura of Restoration pumped to the max! You need that ES 16 so you can recover 416% of you spell's costs as energy. How could you pass that up?!?

yes but what about those who use physical attacks instead of spells and took elemetalist for the energy to use skills more often.. they need the hp in this case. example would be ele/ran
