Funny..how a class that is wanted in so many parties feels underappriciated.

When mesmers dont even complain for the fact that most parties dont want them for their trinity.

It's not because they can't find parties, it's because whenever someone dies, the monk usually gets blamed. Also I never really had much trouble getting a group with my mesmers.

you, like most, just don't seem to understand and obviously don't play a monk. it's not about getting groups, it's not about getting patted on the back, it's about the insane amounts of hate that are routinely hurled at you for others actions which are beyond your control.

i would gladly wait longer for a group if it meant that i wouldn't get blamed for everyone standing in 'wells of profane', and dying as a result, after i told them i'm boon/protting. this is one of many examples.

you can't be serious. why on earth should i have to turn chat off and essentially make myself mute and deaf just to play. what's the point of playing with other people then?

In my head

I play a monk at times too and I've run into my share of people blaming the monk. However, there are also egotistical monks who feel everyone should kiss their feet just because they're a monk. I really don't think monks deserve any special treatment.

Oh and I just avoid the retarded groups and go with henchies or guild members and just avoid the hassle of pick up groups as a monk.

like i said before, and i can't speak for everyone, i have ABSOLUTELY no desire for 'SPECIAL TREATMENT'. if it meant that i never got complimented again in order to not get insulted over things that are not my fault i would be blissfully pleased with that trade.

no single class in this game should get 'special treatment' but keep in mind that no class is deserving of 'special maltreatment' either...

Because you're sensitive and take it seriously when someone throws a tantrum.

Look, I'm not saying Monks deserve the treatment, but if you have the option to ignore it by turning your chat off, and you choose not to, then you're responsible for the situation.

It's like complaining about a TV show you don't like. Nobody is forcing you to watch it. Nobody is forcing you to keep your chat on.

Monks who feel mistreated like this, and continue to leave the chat on, most likely want to be treated like this so they can turn around and say "LOOK WHAT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH", so people will pity them and they can feel like a martyr.

Get over it and turn the damn chat off. Or do it with henchies. Start taking responsibility for your situation and stop acting like a victim. You aren't.

edit: I don't know what everyone is worried about though. Alesia and Lina have proven very effective monks, so much so that I prefer them over players.

Exactly what I said =/ and even if there feeling "unappreciated' don't blame it on people who didn't do it, just go 55..

agreed eet... Monks don't deserve special treatment, but are also not always the one to blame for a ultimate loss... A little Regen time every 3rd MOB or so goes a LONG way to a successful mission... Nothing like seeing 3 warriors running off into another MOB with only about 60% health, and your poor monk only has enough energy left for one Dwaynas Kiss...

you've definately got the wrong person. to me, all it adds up to is a mild inconvience that is quickly remedied by my quitting the group. after 9 months it does get a bit old though...

Quitting the group is a solution too. I'd never hold it against a monk who quit on my group if people treated him like garbage. I'm just saying that like quitting, turning the chat off or adding the person to the ignore list are ways to get around it, to an extent. Nothing is ever going to get Warriors to stop rushing, they've been doing it since release. It's WHY they picked Warrior to play, simply so they COULD rush.

This is also one of the reasons why I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT ANet to at least triple the size of my ignore list. I really have no tolerance for stupidity, and it should be avoided at all costs. Only being able to avoid 10 morons is not nearly enough.

I'd hate to give the impression that I don't care about Monks, but... it's only a game, and I've found henchies to be far more reliable than players (regardless of class.)

Best of luck to you

She also showed up in TK1 latter - That was fun, we even had a drum line going

She mentioned that "Divine" glow if you have C1 - collector's edition will carry over to Factions.

Skill Balancing coming up next week some time.

If your pre-order for Collector's Edition isn't list, ask for it by name.

Seemed postive about the monks on strike and about how *poor* warriors (saying not all warriors) that rush in are to blaim and why the monks were complaining (one of the reasons).

The main developer of the game being playing monk since 2002

She's female (someone called here "Who is this guy")

And people were asking how her level 7 ranger got to TK

Those of you that complain about monks, be lucky you've never had me in your group. Those of you monks that complain about other people, just bring unyielding aura.

Not really that hard and so much fun.

But that throws any semblance of decent energy management right out the window - no OoB or MoR. :|

Energy managment in PvE not at all an issue for monks. Maybe and this is a small maybe, you can have a hard time in FoW. But even if it was an issue, Aura is too much fun to pass on.

And suprisingly enough, a very useful skill.

Let's get back to Gaile's comments before they lock this. Kinda excited about the possibility of "build buttons", as well as a seperate slot for PvP.

Go Monks!
