Funny or pathetic?

Today I faced a very odd situation.

I was in Droks spamming WTB 1500 Wood Planks @ 9G Each (needed parchment for my euro monk :P) and this guy whispers me and says: "I have 5 I'll sell for 10g each."

I'm thinking (5 wood planks? lol?) And I answer with "5?", and he confirms he was talking about wood planks. Then I reply "Are you f( ... ) kidding me?" And he says "Okay, 9G each then."

I mean, following the game chronology, Droknar's Forge is the town you are supposed to visit last. And this guy still bothers trying to sell his stuff for 45-50 gold pieces. That's totally pathetic. I really love the guild system, but i think this is going too far. They'll just take any newb in their guild, run him through the entire game even though he has no ideas how the skills or anything work (Hell, last day I've seen someone who didn't know how Salvage worked at Dragon's Lair), get him to Droknar's Forge so he has "good armor", then power level him to 20.

Then we wonder why we always have to deal with shitty players in PUGs.

Or, the guy could have just sold 1245 planks, and would have been happy to sell you his last 5.

Immediately yelling at him for offering seems a bit harsh. There's no rule I know of that says you are only worthy to sell if you have x amount of something. And if you had time to talk to him, you had time to trade, getting you 5 planks closer to your goal.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, I have to agree with trankle. You seem to have come off a little harsh on the guy. Unless you specified you wanted large quantities only, then he was just tryin to give you what you asked for...

Pathetic, on your part. You assume just because he only had 5 wood planks that that's all hehad when he got there. You also assumed that he was a low-lever character because he only had 5 planks? How do you know that he didn't just sell most of his supplies to other players, or doesn't like keeping his inventory cluttered?

I don't know how many times I've sold stuff to people only to end up with a few of that item left over. And then when I try to sell it to people, I run into people like you that only will buy it in bulk - even linen, which NO-ONE has in bulk!

First off, I could, if I felt, sell a single wood plank for 5k...would anyone pay?...doubtful...would I care what people said?..no.

Economy thrives on business and business is good. 10g for a single wwod plank isn't a bad price (not the best), but it is average. Who would carry 1,500 wood planks in their inventory? Not too many would...its a waste of space and wood planks are as common as dirt. nuff said.

perhaps he meant 5 stacks of 250, which would be 1250 planks.
